Tacoma TRD Offroad Shocks

I have a pair of TRD Front Shocks with 500 miles on them sitting in my garage from my 08 Tacoma. Will these shocks lift the front end of my wifes 07 4wd 4Runner limited? If so does anyone have any idea of how much? Thanks.

no, shocks will never lift the vehicle, unless the spring perch height is changed. shocks only dampen the spring movements, they don't support the weight of the vehicle, hence they can neither lower, nor raise the height.

Given your talking about complete assemblies with Taco springs...

That being the case then "maybe" is the answer. What I don't know is how long the Taco springs are. I can tell you the OE 4wd 4Runner springs are 340mm (V6) or 345mm (V8) with a rate of 580lb/in. I suspect they will fit and lift if the Taco springs are used. How much? It's a guess but I'd think around 2"; that's just based on looking at the Tacos LCA and CV angles at rest.

I suspect they'll bolt in just fine based on coilovers... The aftermarket coilovers from Toytec share the same part number for the 4Runner and Taco applications.

I'll be interested in seeing how this plays out. Many of us have used FJC coils to provide a minor lift with a slightly firmer, more controlled ride.

PS- I can't remember clearly, maybe the OE springs are 345mm and 350mm respectively.
