Hey gang,
First off, just signed up to the forum, awesome place with lots of great advice/problem solving for the 4runner community.
I decided it was time to get back into a 4 runner after years of driving an awd car in VT. So, I bought a used 06 SR5, 4wd with 40k miles on it and I feel like a man again!!! Anyway, there is one issue with the truck. Whenever I take a left turn, no matter what the sharpness, there is a loud rattle coming from under the truck. It feels like it moves, sometimes I can feel it under my feet and other times just hear it. I have checked everything that I could, ie heat shields, jack, spare, and have found nothing.....any suggestions?????

check the skid plate where the bottom wishbone are. mine rattled only when the engine made a connection to the rest of the drive train and fixed it today. good luck
Dam, I hate rattlings! Worn shocks, loose drivetrain component, engine/tranny mount etc... Keep listening. Any warranty left? Might be a covered part. With my other vehicle it was my shocks, another time it was a rear end- much dinero than just a shock hombre. Hopefully cause it's a great built Toyota it's only an old shock. Let us know when you find out.
Check the CV boots. Hopefully it is not a bad axle. If not... maybe a little more description would help this poor dumb ol' boy wrap his head around the problem!
thanks for the responses guys....the rattle seems to move, starts under my feet in the morning and then hear it coming from the back after a stop and start. I brought it to the dealer ship, it still has 2 years and almost 20 k left on the warranty. They checked everything mentioned in the post and said that its in great condition. It doesnt do it all the time, which makes it seem like a nuisance noise. Just trying to get some ideas. Thanks everyone!!
