What does the 05 V6 5-speed turn at 70 MPH?

Anyone know? I'm too lazy to go for a test drive. 2000 rpms? 3000 rpms?

higher gearing on the '05

Because of the 5 spd auto on the '05 V6, I would surmise that this would be lower than the '04 4 spd auto V6. '04 4 spd auto V6 runs around 2100 at 70 mph. You should probably expect this to be between 1900 and 2000 for the '05. I remember reading somewhere that the final gear ratio for the '05 is a bit lower, requiring less RPM's to drive at speed on the highway.

Re: higher gearing on the '05

I drove a 2005 Sport with the 5 speed before I ordered my 05 Limited, and the tach was sub-2000 at highway speeds. My 03 runs 2100 + at the same speed.

My guess is that the 05 V6 will use the same gearing as the v8's as it has the same (?) gearbox. So they probably changed the gears in the diffs as well to be the same as the v8.

So my guess would be a lick over 2000rpm at 70, same as my v8.
