Front Bilstein 5100 shocks, FJ Springs, And Daystar 1.5" Rear Spacers Installed -Pics
Been wanting to do a lift for a while now ever since I picked up full set of FJ springs. I got the rear 1.5" spacers from JAC (Thanks JAC!) for $38.50 shipped, and the front bilstein 5100 shocks from shockswarehouse.com, took 2 weeks to get here due to "national out of stock".
Joel is the one who did the whole install, he have over a decade of experience in the automotive industry, also the top salesman for Zimbrick dealership here in Madison, WI. Please check out his website at Ask For Joel.com.
Here is a picture of his 2010 Hyundai Genesis ... jealous.
Back to the topic, It was $150 for the install and $30 for using the coil compressor. $180 total ? It is hella cheap for amount of work, so I paid him $200, still cheap !
Everything is here!!
Here is the measurement from ground to fender (with 255/75/17 GYSA)

Looks good!
How are your CV angles looking with 4 inches of lift in the front?

Thank you! I was expecting 3 inches max for the front, will 4 inches affect the CV angles/boots?

It can, hard to say though. It should also settle some after you put some miles, and will typically have a little less lift.
I would take a pic of your front CV's so we can see the angles, with that we should get a better idea. You want to make sure the boot is not rubbing on itself on the ribbed section, since it can cause wear, if it is lifted too much this can occur.

Okay I will take some pictures for both sides first thing when I get up in the morning. I bought the springs used (about 10k from seller) do you think the ride will lower more once I put some miles on it?

Lift looks great! The reason for the 4" rather than the 2.5-3" is the Bilstein 5100's are intended for ONLY your stock springs. They actually advise against using any spring other than your stock spring. But Blair is right when he tells you it should settle and I couldn't imagine the FJ springs would cause any major issues... assuming it settles.

I read through the 5100 stuff, and i assume the FJ springs would do the same as a stock springs but just stiffer becuase they have about the same amount coil/length. I guess is a mistake on my part.

I was expecting the front to be VERY stiff, is perfect! I was going over the train track last night, is totally different. I could not feel a thing, its so smooth.

Also took the truck in for alignment today at Firestone:
They told me "Control arm eccentrics did not allow for proper cast adjustment" is that bad?

Just make sure you're getting rotations every 3,000. Or you could swing $400 and get new UCA's.

Why would Toytec use the 5100's in their coil overs then?

I don't work for Toytec. You would have to ask them. I'm just telling him what Bilstein advises. And, honestly, I can't say that it would be an issue. But there must be a reason why Bilstein warns against it.
