2005 Limited Questions

Hi guys, I've just joined up and wanted to ask everyone's opinion on a 4Runner I'm looking at. Its is a 2005 Limited 4x4 V8 with 91k miles on it for about 19k. I wanted to know if there is any glitches or issues I should look out for on that year model. Also how is the navigation, V8 performance and reliability, back up camera, and electronics on these? Thanks

Had mine since march of 2005 and love it. I did have a problem with the passenger seat creaking while a passenger is sitting in it and had to bring it in twice before they corrected it by greasing the rails. Another problem I had was with my sunroof. Had to bring my truck in twice for that also. The first time, my sunroof got stuck in the open position and I had to bring it back in a second time because something was eating up the cables. Everything else has been great for me so far.

I love my T4R with all my heart. I know, you can sense the sincerity.
I honestly don't see myself EVER getting rid of mine. I will drive it to the ground, if I can.

Welcome aboard! Test drive it. Take it on the freeway, back roads, and in the city around town. Drive it like you stole it since it already passed way over its break-in. Push all buttons, switches, and latches to see if they work. Pop up the hood and check if all liquids are at par and ask if the 90K maintenance has been done. Also, check the moonroof if it squeals. THEN, ask if they can lower the price.

EXACTLY! I honestly only looked at the 4runner because I liked the looks, and needed an SUV for my dog, nothing comes close, I absolutely love my 4runner, it's funny to hear, and funny to say, and it seems a common theme on this board, it's one of those things you'll know it when you own it. and to reiterate what Mike said, see if they will come down on the price, after you check it out, and know you want it. good luck, look forward to seeing you on here in the future.

Electric door locks, all replaced. Some moonroof troubles.
No rattles or noises. Everything else perfect.

Mine is 2wd

Ditto that!!! Walk through every step as if you owned it for a year. THEN, ask about the 90k timing belt change. THEN, THEN tell them you want more off the price. When you are meticulous about checking out a vehicle before you buy it even if you didn't notice anything if there was anything to notice it gets noticed (!!!) - sorry just had to do that.

i had my 05 v8 since sept 04 and im still in love. the truck bulletproof most reliable item i've owned. I have not put a dime into it for repairs other than maintenance. At 90k you should start thinking t-belt but its not as expensive as other cars and your good for another 100k. the v8 4runners an awesome truck

The price seems pretty high to me? I just got an 04 V8 Limited 4x4 for $12k (it didn't have the nav though)

I have an exact clone of that truck and mine is perfect. I had no issues with it and mine is running just like it was on day one. The only service I ever needed was oil, filters, and brakes. Nav, camera, V8 are perfect!!

I think the price is a little high.V-8's are selling for less than the V-6 4Runners here in the St. Louis area. For that price,I would sell you my 06 Limited 4WD with less miles.

I have to agree with everyone one the price. They need to come down some more on the price. I think the price is too high. Mine is not a limited, but a 05 Sport V6 and almost 2 years ago I paid just about 3k more than the price they are asking and I bought mine with 18,000 miles, clean inside and out. That price needs to be lowered.
