Possible Problem with DAC Switch
I haven't used my DAC switch in probably one year at least. The other day it occurred to me that when I have my lights on, my Differential switch and my AC switch both illuminate orange, but my DAC switch doesn't. I can't remember if it's supposed to or not. I looked through my manual for a possible fuse to replace, but nothing was in there. It does show the green icon on my dash when I engage it, but is it supposed to illuminate as well??

Yes it does illuminate. try checking the wiring underneath if you can, I thought mine had a blown fuse also and pulled the center plastic up and one of the install guys just had not plugged it back in.

I opened it back up and there was a white 6-pin harness not connected. The blue harness that goes into the DAC switch IS CONNECTED. But, I cant figure out where the unconnected white harness is supposed to go. Any pictures would be nice too

side question: I keep finding myself hitting this button accidentally. My understanding is we only should use it in a straight line and going down hill in extreme conditions so am I doing any damage by driving with it occasionally?
the location makes is so easy to hit accidentally when reaching for things in the little compartment behind it or the center console!

You won't do any harm since it only works in 4L.

Bump
Anybody? Autozone told me it could be a small bulb inside the switch that could have shorted. I really don't want to spend $30 at the dealership if it's an easy fix. Thanks for any help

i had my center console apart the other day, and I also have a white connector not connected to anything. So I think that's normal.
As for the light in the switch, I don't think it's normally replaceable, it might be an LED not sure. I want to change the color of the light, and didn't see anything that could be removed. So I'm thinking there is an LED inside that you'll have to unsolder to replace. I haven't had a chance to do this yet, so not sure.

If it's anything like the AC 115 switch which I believe it would be, the bulbs are replaceable.

Think I found a solution... I haven't opened my center console back up and checked the bulb yet, but I think that's what it is. Here is a thread explaining how to replace bulbs in your switches. Thanks for the help guys.

Well from taking it apart I realized it's a clear incandescent bulb T-1 style (3mm). The color of the illumination is from a rubber covering that slides over the bulb, which in our case is ORANGE. So i guess by replacing that rubber boot, you can make your switches light up any color you want.

The white connector not connected to anything is for the optional cigarette lighter/ extra outlet system.

ah you're right, I was thinking of the seat heater switches. Anyone know how to open those up? I want to put LEDs in those too.

If you detach the switch from the harness, all you do is unscrew the bulb with a flathead screwdriver and it pops right out
