Front FJ Springs gave me a touch more lift than 4runner springs and DS Budget Boost!

How the hell did this happen? I'm sitting nose high now.....doing the rear tonight and have no idea what i am going to get.

Have you driven it any? Mine showed over 2" of lift right after the install, but eventually settled down a good bit. If so, I'm not quite sure, I've not seen anyone getting over 1" from them.

just to clarify. so you had stock 4R springs and DS budget boost and now you installed FJ springs. is the DS boost in there with the FJ springs or not?

it has settled a bit (but its still more than an 1" higher than stock and now the rear with FJ springs is an 1.5 inches higher based on wheel well. The running boards are 1/8" to 1/4" higher in the front.

Front Center hub to wheel well is 20.5" and the rear is 22" for now. Perhaps there will be more settling. The rear FJ shocks are easier to compress than the stock 4runner ones, but they extend back out a lot quicker.

I got 1.6" with fj springs and a 1/4"(1/2") net spacer so a inch is about what I got out on the springs.

1/8 to 1/4 is nothing to worry about imo.

yea after the settling I love the stance it now has. However, the FJ shocks that supposedly only had 3k miles on them suck. They are not stiff at all and I paid all that labor to assemble the fronts. That was a very expensive mistake. I'm going to keep my eyes open for a really good deal on FJ springs with bilsteins already assembled and do it myself this time.

yea, i saw ur other post & asked if ya got the bilsteins with the fj springs, i guess u got the tokico which are the same brand on the 4r sr5. why not keep the FJ springs & save up for 5100s? for me they really firmmed up the ride, handling, & got rid of the nose dive on mine.

Yea I am very bouncy now and have bad nose diving when braking. The front is still too high. The running boards are noticeably higher in front. I can't justify buying new bilsteins and paying the labor for the front again after i just paid all that labor for this time. That's why I need to find some already assembled so I can put them in myself and just pay for alignment. Plus maybe another set won't raise the front so much.

I still think you got a little much lift out of the deal (depending on how much it has settled), but one thing that's been overlooked is with the v6 you'll gain more lift than the v8. I've not seen anyone with a v8 getting over 1", but it does seem some with the v6 have gotten that or more.

This is a little off topic, but I recently installed the 2.5" Daystar kit on my FJ cruiser springs and am now nose high. I just did this yesterday, and Id like to hope it will settle but I dont see why it would.

I didnt take accurate measurements back when I installed the FJ springs, so I cant say what they did for me. I do know with the FJ setup and a toytec 1" spacer lift..it had a nice stance. It wasnt high enough for me, but I liked the little bit of rake. Took out the toytec, added the 2.5" daystar to the front and 1.5" to the rear..and now its nose high. By tape measure its only about a half inch, but it sure looks like more. Park on it on a slight slant and it might as well be a foot higher.
