2008 T4R Sport
Hi All,
I just sold my 2008 BMW M3 and bought my first T4R Sport. I love it! Its a Galactic Grey 2008 T4RSport with 32,500 miles on it. I got the 2008 over the 2007 because I have a 9 and 7 year old and there are not too many 2007s with Rear Side Air Bags. The Rear air bags were important to me for my kids. I think my T4R is a pretty bar bones car. No Nav, No Sunroof, but it has power seats. The Seats looked brand new. The car drove straight as an arrow, got up to 60mph let go of the steering wheel and hit the brakes and the car stopped going straight. I was a perfect test drive. The body and paint looked perfect and not accidents as I could tell. My new T4R sounds, looks, and smells perfect. I looked at several other T4R on dealership lots that smell like someone had died or puked or shit their pants. So, I got the one that was newer, about $1k more, had fewer miles and SMELLED NORMAL/NEW.
My T4R was originally purchased in April 2008 so the original owner only had it for about 28 months. and put 32,000 miles on it. I paid 23,700 for it.
It's NOT a certified pre owned car, but I called a few local dealerships and was offered the 7yr/75k/$0 Deductable for $1,000.
looking forward to catching up on some past post.
ZEmmy.

Welcome to the forum. I also have an '08 Sport but with sunroof and a pile of options; stickered at $36k and paid $28K new in November '08. This is my 3rd T4R (had a '90 2nd gen and a '00 3rd gen) and my 6th Toyota. They just get broken in around 150,000 miles.

Yea, I cannot believe that you would get rid of an 08 M3 for a used 4runner. Not to say that you won't like the 4R but the E92 M3 is a sweet car. It must have been a coupe? Should have traded it in on a X5M haha! I am looking forward to purchasing either a E60 M5, 08 or newer, a 08 or newer M3 sedan or a 2010 Cadi CTS-V once I get out of school. Did you like the M3? Is there anything you would have changed about it?

It was a E92 Coupe, Manual Transmission. Sparkling Graphite, with 18,000 fun miles driven on it. I sold it because I bought a house and got a puppy. 2Kids, a new house, and a Puppy. It would have been too much wear on the M3. Ill buy one again thats for sure. It was my 3rd M3. I had the 1998, 2003, and the 2008. I'll buy on again in a few years or so.
It would have been a good combo if I would have kept both, but was not a good time for that.

Good choice although coming from an M3 I would have thought you would have gotten the V8.
GG is the shit, best color imo. Ranges from gray to purple depending on the light.

I live in Los Angeles and drive the side streets to work. V8 was not really necessary for me, nor having a 4x4. No Doubt, I do miss my M3 but I found it a good new home.
Thanks all.

Flyer...Move from L.A.? Are you nuts? I love L.A., I will never move from the greatest city in the world. Lakers, Dodgers, and Manhattan Beach's warm ocean. However, when I do get a second home it will be on Flathead Lake in Montana, but I'm about 20 years from that.

Hey Zemmy, congrats on the new purchase. I just purchased an 08 sport urban runner with 18k miles on it for about same price as you. I'm in love with it. I love the options of the urban runner edition, too bad you couldn't find one as well.

Zemmy, nice ride ! (see my avatar). I also traded my BMW for a 4Runner in 2004, then passed it on to my daughter after 4 years and replaced with a 2008 SE4WD. No disrespect to BMW lovers, but I love my 4Runners even more than I loved the BMW.
