4Runner Feels like its loosing Power!
I have had my 07 Runner for about 5 or 6 months now, and its doesnt feel like it has the same get up and go!, I do the normal oil changes and maintance. What can I do that isnt too expensive that will help with a little but more power and get up and go!.
Plugs and wires?
CAI?
Different oil?
Any sugg. would be great. The runner is comp. stock right now, I have a lot of things I want to do it. Just dont know where to start.
Also.... I am having a cruise control problem that the dealer cant figure out. It is also messing with my rear brake lights making them flicker. Weird***
Any help would be great or any great dealers in Washington State. (seattle area)

V6 or V8? How many miles?
You may be long overdue for some new plugs which might help with the loss of performance. You also can't go wrong with synthetic oil, a good quality air filter and cleaning your MAF.

Did you do the 60K service already? I don't have the booklet on me, but if I can remember there are several things to be done at 60K. Maybe something you missed on that is affecting your performance...(it's unlikely, but possible).
I had this same problem, (only with a 3rd gen)
I'm not sure if this will help you, but before your next oil change use 2 cans of seafoam (1 in a full gas tank, 1/2 in the crankcase, 1/2 sucked through a PCV or booster line). This, along with cleaning my throttle body helped a great deal on my '98 with ~200K.
66k is still pretty new (for a 4runner) so I doubt the seafoam will help as much.

I'd check the spark plugs first, and then the air filter.
Also, is the "brake light" issue occuring only with the cruise control on? I just want to make sure that the loss of power is not related to the brakes sticking.

I am going to look into the spark plugs and air filter. Also what is the MAF?
The brake lights, is a seperate issue. But the lights flicker when i hit bumps. Also when the cruise control is on, If I hit a bump or a pot hole, even small ones, the cruise will shut off. The dealer does not know why. Very agrivating.

Have you or the dealership tested the brake light switch behind the pedal? If its malfunctioning it will turn the brake lights on, and by doing so will also cancel the cruise control.

Cool. Thanks fellas. I will look into this. And ya the dealer looked at the switch behind the pedal. They said it was fine. (who knows if there telling the truth.) What does the switch look like. (any pics) I would like to get down there and take a look at it.

Hey, def change the air filter, spark plugs and prob clean the MAF(which I just did).
In May I put in an AFE CAI, Iridium plugs and noticed and sweet pickup in my 4Runner.
There's lots of posts on her to search thru on what people have done- and learn from the good an the mistakes.
Good luck and throw some pics on here.
