I've noticed a little confusion lately and also in some threads I have searched on here about the difference between the factory OEM spoiler and the port-installed OEM spoiler. Both are Toyota parts, both are available from the dealer (although there are probably only 5-6 per color still available for the port-install spoilers). The factory spoiler is larger, a little more "chunky" and I've read that it is more "functional" than the port installed unit. As far as its functionality is concerned, I've heard everything from downforce, to keeping the rear window clean, and even keeping exhaust gas out of the cabin when driving with the rear window down. I can't confirm or deny any of that personally. I photographed two vehicles on our lot, one with the factory spoiler and another with the port-installed to give a photo reference for them.

*NOTE - both units include a third brake light. Body-mounted third brake light can be seen glowing from behind port installed unit but is hidden from view completely with the factory spoiler.
In the photos above, the factory OEM spoiler is Shadow Mica on a Limited model and the port installed spoiler is Black on a XSP Sport model.
Hope this helps!
