4Runner Limited vs 4Runner Sport Edition

Whats faster between the two. The limited or the sport edition? and does the hood scoop serve any purpose or just physical appearance?

haha well they are both 2wd both v6's and same amount of people. I do know that Sport Editions have an extra gear right? and haha yea its 113...but i removed my limiter and got it up to 124 in a short amount of time...it had alot more to go but im not gonna be stupid and run my 109mph rated tires at 125mph for that long unless i anticipate death.

No. They are both the same. The scoop is only for looks.

Why did you think the sports have another gear?

No real speed difference- they have identical motors, transmissions, and gearing. The Sport has reportedly tougher rims, bigger brakes, and has the XREAS suspension which the Limited may or may not have.

Maybe the Sport Edition by an unnoticeable margin, since it's a tad lighter than the Limited.

More importantly, why are you wanting to know? Are we street racing T4R's now?

You should probably add some NOS and underglow. Some racing stickers might boost the HP too, breh.

I think the only reason for the pointless hood scoop is to make it look either "fun and sporty" or "fast and intimidating". I have not decided which, though
no offense to those with that option.

OMG you have NO idea how much FASTER my 4Runner is because it has the hood scoop. It's insane actually.

Ha ha ha ha! It's all for looks. I think it adds a nice touch in the lines of the hood. Did I pay more just for that? Naw. It was the upgraded brakes and again for looks, the tubular rack and steps. I didn't want leather in Las Vegas. The SR5 just wasn't for me, I didn't like the interior as much.

I AM however going to add at least one sticker to add 10+ HP at the rear wheels. I was thinking about Calvin peeing on a Ford emblem OR a "Powered by Toyota" decal.

Edit: I admit, I stoplight drag race all the time. What happened when the water tanker and vinegar tanker collided? DOUCHE!! Haha
