Should I wait for the V8?

I can't believe what I'm going through trying to pick up the right 4R. Last time I test drove the V6 and V8 I didn't notice any huge difference. I was leaning toward just picking up the V6 because the difference in performance was very minor in my opionio. I want to pick up a 4R before the end of the year, but I'm hesitant because what if the new V8 makes a big difference? I won't be doing much towing, I just like the extra hp when I want it. Anyone with the new V8 out there tell me if there is much difference between the old V8 and new? Is it a night and day difference or just very subtle. Should I pick up end of the year savings getting the V6 or wait a few weeks for the new V8? I know it's kind of loaded question, but this forum has been very helpful. Thanks to all and have a great Christmas -- oops. I better be politacally correct. Have a great holiday.

if you like extra HP and can afford it....wait for the new V8. it'll be well worth it, and that way you don't have any regrets. i'd even wait for the new V6 with the 5spd. I wish i knew they were comming out with a 5spd for the V6 when i bought mine. Yes, it makes a difference. if you're really tight on money then i guess you should save money by buying now. Just keep in mind that when you buy a car.....make sure you get what you want. if you have second thoughts after buying, you'll lose money if you decide to trade. good luck!

I AGREE 100%, I THOUGHT THE V6 WAS OK BUT AFTER OWNING THE V8 I WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN HAPPY WITH THE V6. IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT GO FOR THE V8

The 05 V8 is not night and day with the 04. There IS a notable difference throughout the powerband, however, and it is most noticable in the high (4000+) rpm range, where the 230hp V8's ran out of breath. In normal 1/3 throttle or less driving, it's not a huge difference. It feels like, well, exactly what it is......a little more torque everywhere, and 40 more hp up top.

I would wait for the V8 if you don't mind spending a little more. Nice thing is, you won't be dissapointed with any of the 3 engines.

If you can truly afford to own the V-8, you should wait for it.

There is no replacement for displacement and you'd rather have a V-8 and not need it than need it and not have it.
