I'm voting starter on this one. I had the EXACT same deal happen on my FJ62. Next time, take a hammer and tap on the starter. Dime to dollar bet it will turn over after you do that.

I don't trust Autozone or any other of those places as last time I asked them if they could get their hands on a driveshaft for a 69 Camaro and they asked if it was the front right or front left that I needed!!!!!

I'll try the banging thing on the starter . . . and will check connections to the solenoid too. I can't believe the bit about the R or L driveshaft! Are you joking?! wow.. .

I just asked for a clutch master cylinder for my Dodge Ram 2500. They handed me a BRAKE master cylinder and then argued with me about it! Fortunately I could tell the difference - haha!

Oh I always get a Mexican guy in front of me holding a part for his cousins car which he has no idea what the part is or what it's for only that the car is a "Pord". Sigh... At least I can relate as my last name is Rodrigues. Ha Ha Ha!

If it is a starter or alternator, my suggestion is go to the dealer. Good Luck!!

Update:

I measured the (new) battery when I parked last nite at 10pm: 12.67. This morning I measured the battery at 10am: 12.43. Only about a 10 F degree temp drop.

I disconnected the old battery (that I thought was faulty so I changed it out) and gave it a full charge. I let it settle and it tested at:12.75 It has been sitting in my garage and 4 days later it tests: 12.69

I believe this indicates a key-off drain so I'm going to start a new thread on parasitic drains.

Thanks for all the suggestions . . .
