Mystery to me
Hey guys,
New to the forum. Two weeks ago I picked up a 2004 T4R Sport at a dealer auction. I am loving this truck so far and I have a few mods in mind so far. Anyway my 'mystery' question is what are the 5 prong star looking knobs in the rear cargo area? Are they for a cargo net of some sort?

Yes... there is a factory cargo net that hooks to those. Here's an example: ToyotaPartsPeople.com - Genuine Toyota Parts and Toyota Accessories

That is what I though. I needed some 'expert' opinion though.
Thanks Doozi

Pretty sure some people use them to keep plastic grocery bags from falling over too. Congrats on the new rig, BTW.

The bigger mystery is why I got an extra one of these nets...it's still packaged up and in one of the compartments back there...
Did every T4R come with a backup net thingy?

Are you sure it's not the spider net?

If you have the double-decker shelf then it's probably the spider net for the shelf. Or, it could be the envelope net that goes in front of the rear door and hangs on two of the knobs.

One of these days I should unwrap mine and put it to use. I'm pretty sick and tired of groceries rolling out of the tailgate when I get home and open the gate.

Yeah, this and the climate control are my only 2 peeves still. I used to think the whole DD thing was stupid, but I found 3 rubbermade bins that fit under the shelf perfectly and I've actually used it on several occasions. Why they had to design the upper shelf with a lip is beyond me. It promotes stuff falling off it whether shelf is up or down.
