I got my last rig right out of college - it was 1996 Ford Ranger Super Cab 4x4 4.0. $22,000! Called it the "Hummranger" When sold it had 7 inches of lift. 4 susp & 3 body, 33's, Eaton Locker in a 35 spline custom 8.8, headders, All pro sliders, custom rear bumper, IPF supper rally lights and all sorts of cool mods. I miss old girl but the tranny was going south and I was over the wheeling bug. It was hard to bash that thing and worry about getting to work on monday. Saw some kid driving it around town for the 1st time a year after I sold it. Thing looked wicked I pulled up next to him at the next light. When his passanger rolled down the window I shouted " I built that rig" he just looked and pulled away. No respect. I felt kind of sad but I love my new runner!

Whelp I had a few right before and many between now and 1991... I had an 04 Grand Cherokee which was totalled... I traded in an RSX Type S for the 4 Runner and I still have my Wrangler.

Previously had a 1992 GMC T15 Jimmy. Excellent 4x4 drivetrain with the 4.3L Vortec but a whole lot of other reliability issues cost GM my business.

My first ride was the mini SUV....haha. I had the 96 rav4. It was a nice first car, but compared to my 4runner...it shows me that the little things count like keyless entry and power windows and doors. It feels like i'm 'growing' from the rav4 to the 4runner. haha.

My first car was a 1986 Nissan Pulsar NX, purchased in 1995. Gave it to my cousin in 1998.
Next is a 1995 Nissan 240sx, purchased in July 1998.
Traded the 1995 240sx for a 1996 Nissan 240sx in September 1998. Been driving this car up until now. August of 2003 purchased the 1993 4Runner.

Ummm let me think... My VERY 1st vehicle was a 1985 Toyota Tacoma with a 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires fully restored by me and my dad when i was 16, 2nd was a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado with a 9 inch lift and 35 inch tires, show quality ill post pics later, 3rd was a 2001 Mitshibitshi (or however you spell it) Eclipse that i HAD to drive b/c my 94 chevy only got 5-10mpg and the eclipse got like 20-25. My 4th was the 1995 Toyota LandCruiser fully loaded with every opition you could get in 95. I got it when it had only 55K and when i sold it there was 175K and i sold it for 5K less than what we paid for it 2 years prior. Now i have my 04 Runner and i F-N LOVE it.

'74 VW Super Beetle
'81 VW Rabbit--ran into the back of a 2 and 1/2 ton Army truck. My dad put it back together and drove it himself for quite some time.

'86 Mazda 626

Had the previous three through high school and college. None of them had air conditioning not to mention wonderful aspects like automatic windows and door locks!

'88 Pontiac Sunbird--first brand new car, ended up hating it!

'89 VW GTI
'93 Chevrolet Camaro
'95 Toyota T-100--my favorite all time car, had it for 8 years and then sold it to my nephew, hoping to buy it back when he is ready to sell it.

'02 VW GTI 337 Edition (only 1500 made for the U.S. market)--awesome car, but decided to get rid of it to be able to get the runner. Had to make a sacrifice somewhere.

'03 Honda Element--good vehicle for what it is, perfect for my big dogs, but just wasn't what I really wanted. Never was impressed with the power it had and truly missed a vehicle with real 4WD. Sold it and the VW at the same time and got the 4runner.

'04 Toyota 4Runner SE--hope to keep this one as long as I had the T-100, though I must say that I have inherited "car fever" from my father and sometimes just can't control myself.

A lot of you guys had really nice cars, do you still own them or not, why did you trade them or sell for 4 runners?
