Raingler Barrier Net (pictures inside)
I have to first thank daPitbull, since he was the first person I saw with this cargo barrier net, but I wanted to make a thread about it since I think they are a great accessory to have. With all the off roading and camping I do I like the idea of the cargo being separated from where the passengers are, both for convenience and safety. It is made by Raingler and is extremely well made. It is actually made for an FJ but fits great in our 4Runner. Here is the link, followed by a few pictures of it installed.
www.raingler.com
Here is where I replaced my coat hangers with a D Ring, it is really secure. I am debating if I am going to dremel out the coat hanger so I can remount it (has to be slightly modified to fit) or just add another d-ring to the other hole. The d-ring is toyota part #5846035012, called a "Luggage Belt Striker Assembly".

Thanks guys, I was really happy with this and it is really useful. I figured other than looking awesome it was also pretty functional!

Looks like you could mount the original plastic handles/clothes hangers over that mounting bracket.
Did you try?
Looks good, decent for people with pets that prefer riding shotgun too.

This is what I use.... Dog Car Barrier
This will shorten vertically as well for the 4Runenr and I have just two of the horizontal bars on it, both of them from the top of the back seat and the roof. They tighten down against the floor and roof and are very secure for any items shifting or flying forward in an accident.
Plus it was cheaper then that barrier net.
I'll try to post some pics later of it in my T4R.

I did try and it does not fit, I think I may trim it so it can fit or just add another D-Ring to each side- not sure yet.

I like the idea of a net much more than a metal barrier, hence why I took this direction. I like that I can take this whole net down if need be and put it in the pocket on one of my doors, behind a seat, in a bag etc... , it folts up really small. Not to mention I think it looks cool

I used one of these pet gates in my FJ. Overtime, it messes up the headliner due to the pressure. Plus, my dog could pull it down when he wanted to. For me, the net is by far better solution.

Good to know about the headliner. And yeah, my German Shephred shouldn't be able to get through this

Dang, those D-rings from the stealership are stupid expensive. Bought them anyway. I'm a sucker for gotta-have-it-now.

Blair, that looks great. Good find daPit.
I honestly can't think of a time when I've absolutley needed something like that, but I'm trying rrrreal hard to justify it.
Also, the dremel, best.tool.ever!

After my trip to the dunes this weekend, it is absolutely needed. We did some drops down some REALLY steep hills and with all my camping gear in the back I am sure happy that I had this to keep it behind me.
And +1 for the dremel

Do you not have the coat hangers? (they are not handles). I believe some older 4Runners do not have the holes there for these.
