Headlight switch

OK, another new 4R owner stupid question: What does the Auto position for the vehicle lights do?

Just got an '05 LTD and there wasn't an owner's manual with it, so still learning what all the gadgets do. Manual is on order.

Thanks in advance!

In the AUTO position, your headlights will turn on and off automatically based on the ambient light. You will probably notice the sensors on the dash near the windshield. Don't cover these up.

I highly recommend running them in this position so that you are always visable in cloudy, rainy conditions where one might not turn them on manually.

Thank you Allegro. Makes perfect sense, and I'll follow your advice.

Cheers.
