Am planing on doing that same setup but mine is a V6. How much lift should I expect with daystar 2.5/1.5 and FJ shocks/coils?

Check out the link in my sig. I'd guess 3.5"/2". I'd suggest looking into using the daystar budget boost spacer with the 1.5"rear spacer. This should net around a 3"/2" lift and prevent being nose high.

Finally got my 2010 FJ Springs installed. Went with the 1/4" Toyotec spacer up front. I have a 2wd V8. I think it turned out quite nice.

I also have a 2WD V8---I put the FJ TRD shocks and FJ springs front and rear from a 2011 FJ. The ride is amazing...much more stable and it absorbs just about anything in the road. No more bouncing and bump steering from the mushy Runner cheapo shocks and thin springs. I didn't put a spacer in at all and think the ride and look is great like it is

So if I install the Toytech 2" lift spacers and I leave in the stock coils, and don't touch the rear at all, I'll get 2" lift in the front and it will be level?
It's confusing reading this.
I have an '06 V6 2wd

FJ/5100s

I am planning on getting my 285s mounted tomorrow. I currently have FJ Coils and 5100s at 1.75. I am planning on adjusting them up to 2.5" this evening.

Question #1 is adjustment to 2.5" 100% necessary? #2 if yes would I also need a top off spacer?

I actually got a used set of KM2's for free (25% tread left) but they were free and now I get to play around with sizing & rubbing before buying new tires and potentially slicing them on the trail.

I am planning on going out with the NE guys this weekend in NH and will get a good idea of what I need to adjust. Thanks guys!!!!

Sorry for the nOOb question, but...

I have an 07 SR5 V6 4x4. Have a Trail Teams FJC 08 suspension on the way, everything except rear shocks.

Thinking of going with Bilstein adjustables in the back. Sound sensible?

Dumb questions: Am I right in thinking TT = TRD springs/shocks?

Next dumb question: Was thinking of running them w/o spacers. Good idea or not? Not looking for huge lift, the 1 to 1.5" I'd get from TRD FJ springs ought to be enough for my needs.

Anyone else running a V6 4x4 with FJC springs only w/o spacers? Pics?

Thanks!

The Bilstein 5100 rear shocks are not adjustable, only the fronts are. It should match the front pretty well. Only issue is that without a lift, if you're off road an flexing all the way it's possible the coil could come unseated.

TT does not equal TRD. The TT shocks are silver/blue and are "trail tuned". The TRD's are red/blue and are tuned for the higher speed stuff based on what I've read. Both are Bilstein shocks made for Toyota. I honestly can't say if there's a noticeable difference, it very likely could all be a marketing ploy.

No problems with running just the coils and no spacers, it's all about the look you want. With just the coils it would bring the front up some and level things out. If you really wanted it level you could add the 1/4" thick Toytec spacers up front, this is what most have done. I can't recall anyone who hasn't added at least the 1/4" front spacers. Check the FJ swap spread sheet (link in my sig) and you can see who has what and possibly some pics.

These set of coils are from a 2012 FJ cruiser. Based on the color codes can you tell if they would work in my 2008 4Runner? are they from a 4wd?
I read somewhere to make sure they are from a 4wd to get some lift. I don't know if they are.
I read different posts about the color codes, but I can't tell what color are these. I can't see colors pretty well. Thanks for the help.

I would guess colors would be different for a 2wd, but I don't know what those would be. The 2012 FJ coils should fit though. Those colors are different than mine were, so I'm not sure. You should be able to look at them and tell one is slightly taller than the other, the taller one is the driver side.

OK, got my springs out and looked at them yesterday (been really busy!) One front is marked green/yellow, the other one is just green (I think.) I'll try to get pics up later.

Anyone know which one goes on the driver's side and which on the passenger?
