That's correct. The springs from a 2010+ fj cruiser will be a direct fit for the 4th gen 4runner. But the shocks won't. The parts of the shock that bolt to the 4runner are slightly different and require modifications on both the shocks and the car. They're not extensive modifications, just need to enlarge some mounting areas and shave others.

I did the 2010+ fj springs and 2009 fj tokico shocks. It was all I wanted but much better feel than stock t4r. I recommend the 2010+ springs though.

I installed the Moog fj rear springs but they won't sit correctly and it looks real sketch. How do I get it to sit correctly without cutting it? How dangerous is it to drive on if not seated correctly?

I can’t tell from the pics but are they installed right side up? When installed, the rounded end of the spring is on bottom and the flattened end is on top. The springs are sitting upside down in this pic. See how the end of the coil that’s against the floor is flattened on the spring on the left? That should be on the top when installed.

I'm pretty sure I installed them right, but I could be wrong? I will flip them and see what happens. but there is a whole thread on it not fitting https://www.toyota-4runner.org/member.php?u=43583

Excellent write up! I have been considering this option for my '04. Been looking at some OME too, just not sure yet.

@impervious17 , sorry, you’re right, I missed that you have the Moog version. I was thinking they were stock Toyota FJ springs. I regret the confusion.

I am indeed. Just back from the 2nd annual Kentucky Toyota Trail Ride and I continue to be amazed at how well the truck rides and handles both on and off road.

Does anyone have a driver side lean after installing the MOOG FJ coils + bilsteins 5100? mine leans about 1" in the front driver side and .5 in the rear.

What notch did you set the front shocks at? I’m about to do this lift with the same springs and 5100’s. I’m going to pair them with 5100’s in the back and 2 inch Toytec coils. I just wanna make sure I’m at 3 and 2. I currently have it sitting on Pro-comp 17x9 wheels and 285/70/17’s

They're set to .85". It's about a .8" difference from front driver to passenger with a full tank of gas. I'm going to ride it out and see what it is when the tank is 1/4. I ordered a 1/4 toytec spacer I'm gonna throw on eventually.

Does anyone know the difference between FJ Cruiser 'Trail Teams' front coils vs the non Trail Teams coils? They appear to have different OEM part numbers.

I bought rears (Trail Team model) from someone awhile back and am trying to match the fronts now.

Has anyone ever heard of Freedom off road? They have a set of rear springs on Amazon for $100 it says I will need longer shocks but I don't know if I believe it when I be able to make these work with the Bilstein 5100? Also how are the Moog front Springs? I know the rear ones are garbage that's why I'm looking at these other ones.... I was just going to pay the extra money and get the Emu but I could almost get my brush guard for the difference in price alone....

Got my Toytec superflex and top plate 1/4 spacer in today. Toytec was very helpful in helping me order these. Going to take out the Moog FJ coils this weekend and put the toytecs on. Hopefully it will get rid of my driverside lean. Maybe I wont have to use the spacer haha. Toytec superflex vs stock 4runner coil in the pic.
