You can move the fender liner to help with rubbing. See the Spidertrax post linked in my sig.

I would like to raise the rear 1” . What year rear FJ springs would I need? Would like to keep the spring rate same or close to the stock one.

really depends on who will be the first to get one.

I would like to have a look at a 5th Gen with KDSS and one without. A bit more research would be good to get the suspension right for the 5th Gen.

The FJ will be simpler as it will be more an issue of modifying mount issues.

SO if you want to transfer your current suspension the FJ will definitely be the easier option, as there is no weight difference and just a few simple mount issues you will have to resolve. You can PM me if you want, but I stillneed to do a bit more homework on the FJ and a lot more on the 4Runner.

I have a pair of rear FJ springs from a 2007 that I ran for 3.5 years and 82K miles. I understand if you prefer to find some with lower mileage but I'm open to an offer if you're interested. They're at the top of this pic from when I installed them:

I also have a pair of Bilstein 4600 rear springs that I've had on for 1.5 years and 32K miles. The ones for sale are on the right in this pic:

Decided to go with an Eibach kit so that's why I took off this gear. A great deal is available on the springs and/or shocks.

Quick question I’m hoping someone can answer for me. Right now I have FJ springs on the stock setting on 5100s. Does anyone, with a V6, have FJ springs on the second (.85”) setting? I’d really like to know 2 things. 1) what is the hub to fender measurement and 2) did you need new UCAs installed?

Thanks

TL/DR version: anyone know if the aftermarket Moogs (81108 & 81081) have different heights for the driver/passenger side. I’ve searched with no luck.

I got these springs almost 4 years ago with the intent of doing the lift myself.. then moved twice for work and didn’t have a garage at either of the new locations. As I’m needing new tires this year I finally just paid to have a shop do it, and of course in my haste didn’t measure the springs beforehand. As it currently sits post lift, the passenger side is higher than the driver side, so wondering if the springs did have different lengths for driver/passenger.

any set from an 07-09 4x4 FJ will be a direct replacement for any 03-09 4runner, but those from 2010's require some slight modification. 2WD springs will fit as well, but will not yield the same results.
I managed to salvage a set of springs from an 07 2WD FJ and without digging through 50+ pages of this thread, what’s does “will not yield the same results” mean? Not the same amount of lift? By how much? I have searched multiple places and nothing really clarifies this caveat. If it’s less overall lift, couldn’t that be compensated by pucks?
Thanks for the help, my poor Runner is still on its factory original shocks and I think after 330,000 miles it may be getting close to time to think about planning to replace them. May as well do a budget lift at the same time.

Sr5 4x4

I have a 2007 SR5 V6 4X4.

Does anyone have photos of simply 5100s set at 0.85" with only FJ springs front and rear? I am not looking to run spacers.

Without any spacers, what would this set up yield? I am looking for a slight rake toward the front.

Bilstein 5100s+FJ springs done

I just got a set of FJ springs and I'm planning on getting 5100's as well. This thread shows what you're looking for I believe and what I'll be setting mine to also.

FJ/GX Suspension Components on '03 V8

Hello,

There's someone local selling front and rear suspension components off a 2015 GX460 with 60k miles for very cheap. They claim it's plug n play with all FJs and 03+ T4R. But, I think I read the bushings on the rear shock are different. Is that right?

At any rate, they are genuine OEM parts. I'm certain it will be a significant improvement over my 185k mile, 21 year old parts. Worth the price of admission for me.

I'm also considering OEM UCAs/struts in front and RC N3s + Wheeler's T13 on rear.

My goal is to gain some height and comfort and clear 32-33s on my 17x7.5 FJ factory wheels.

I'm going to keep reading threads, but I wanted to post here since it's specific to potential FJ/GX to T4R suspension.

Any insights regarding the compatibility/gain of the GX parts (rear shock)? Thoughts on OEM GX rear springs vs Wheeler's T13?

I'll be doing the workmthis weekend.

Thanks, KG
