For those that used the FJ springs. I had a DIY moment today and decided to do the FJ coils with 5100 on the rear. The coils did not seem to me to sit as nice/flush as the stock ones. I can get photo if need be. Any pics of how somebody's FJ coils are seated would be great and much much appreciated. I'm not sure how safe this thing will be with the ones i have now if they are not the right ones. The is my first attempt at suspension work.
Thanks guys....

Yea, wouldn't hurt to include year model, I know the 2010's require modification to fit. Thanks! Once we get a large list together in this post, I'll move it all to a spreadsheet, calculate some formulas, and post that back.

Thanks bro, for writing back. I have a 2007 XSP (SR5) 2 Wheel drive. I'm trying to get some pictures loaded of the spring seated as well as my truck. What got me is the fact they are supposed to fit 2007 to 2010.

pics

Finally got the pics uploaded. I did not realize the minimum pixel size my phone took. I've enclosed a pic of the way the FJ rear springs are setting for me.

Ebay-FJ springs 2007 to 2010 MOOG.
The rear moog FJ springs aren't going to fully sit down into the lower seat.
Some people leave them half seated and some return them and choose another option.

the moog fronts i used had the same issue. the coil is wound flat(ish) but isn't ground perfectly flat like the oem spring. it was close enough for my fronts, the rubber in the upper mount took up the slack. been running them for a couple months and they're fine.

Thanks guys. I was worried about they way they were seated. You guys eased my mind a lot. Thanks for the option about the grinding. I dont have the tools or time for that though. So I guess now I will let it ride until I find actual set of 07 FJ springs used. It seems to ride well. Thanks a lot guys. By the way if anybody is thinking about the Rancho quick-struts I have them up front. They are pretty nice. I used the same setup on my Tacoma.

Question for you all, sorry if its been asked before but I searched.

On rock auto they have two sets of front and back FJ springs listed with different moog part numbers

One is: Front=81092
rear=81083

the other is: Front=81108
rear=81081

When I searched the 81081 I saw post about unseated spring issues and the other set I found nothing on. The first set says RWD, does that make a difference and do FJ's even come just RWD?

So the question is are one of these sets right or wrong? Thanks in advance!

Search was using a 2008 FJ. A guess is maybe one set is for the 2010+ and maybe that why they aren't seating? So which set is for the 07-09? The first set? Both sets come up in a search for a 2010 as well.

One is for 2wd the other is for 4wd. You want the 4wd. I was able to get the driver's side rear to seat with a pry bar, but I had to cut about 3/4" off the other side with an angle grinder. It then went on super easy, and the passenger side still measures about 1/2" more lift.

Thanks for the quick answer, was the lift different per side with cutting one side?

Looking at your sig, I think you have what im going for. 5100s with fjs in the front for 3" and 5100s with fjs in the rear for .5"(I have a v6 4x4)

Hey guys, thread revival here.

I found a complete set of 2014 FJ Bilsteins and springs to replace my Xreas.

I've surfed through this and a few other FJ suspension swap threads. Can someone confirm the modding needed to fit 2011+ FJ Bilsteins on a 4th gen? I've read a few folks said straight bolt in, while OP's help link mentions there's some grinding and drilling needed to get them to fit.

Thanks!

From what I have read, the fronts should not be an issue. The rears are the ones that will require some modding, the lower bolt hole on the shock doesnt fit.... (spring should be ok)
