Road Trip questions/conserns

I just bought my 4runner a few months ago and will be driving from Austin to Denver this weekend to get some much needed snowboarding in. I am at 86K miles and will be due for an oil change at 87,500 miles. I am also due for the 90K mile service. Is it that big of a deal to wait to do all the services I need until I get back? When I get back I will probably be somewhere around 88,500 miles.

You should be fine, just make sure you have good wiper blades (Front and Back), plenty of washer fluid, new air filter, plenty of air in tires, and make sure you have good oil and coolant level, etc. Also would be a good time to check your spare tire, jack, etc. Make sure everything is there and working. Other than that and a quick visual inspection of your Serpentine belt, you should be good to go! Have fun! Denver is a great city, I have been multiple times, hitting the slopes at Copper and at Breck.

Thanks! I used to live in Lakewood, CO while I was in college and miss it so much! I bought a house down here in TX a few years ago so I am pretty grounded in central texas with no mountains :-( One day I hope to be rich and be able to afford a place in both states so I can get my wakeboarding and snowboarding fix when ever I want!

Sound like a plan to me! I just got back to Mississippi from Jacksonville. We went to the Gator Bowl. We took a road trip in my 4Runner and it made the 1200 mile round trip with no problems! Love that I can just GO, with no worries. Hope your trip goes well, as for College, I miss those days too.

Radio install went great! I love all the options I have now and it was wonderful to use on the long drive up to Denver. Got a lot of snowboarding in and had a blast with friends I hadn't seen in a long time. The 4runner did a fantastic job and hauled @$$ up the mountains with no problem. Now that I am back home my odo says 89600...... and you know what that means......? 90,000 mile service time :-( I definately do not want to spen that kind of money anytime soon, that will suck.
Here are some pics from the trip:

Very nice! I just got back from CO for skiing myself.. White 4runners look good in the snow huh?

Wish I had that rack, I had to listen to skis rattle in the cab for 1,500 miles each way.. We almost duct taped 'em to the roof for the trip back..
