So does that mean that my tr4 will be a one wheel wonder in the rear, or will it be like yours when you turn those things off. I do have the diff-lock but don't really get how it works. I know I might sound like a tard but I have never owned a 4x4 or any thing this new so its all a lot more tech then im used to. Is there a way to turn off the abs when im off-road or would that be dumb and I want the abs off-road.

You want traction off when you are off road.

The center diff is pretty cool.

Basically:

When you switch into 4HI, you activate AWD with a 60/40 power split.

When you press the center diff, you create a 50/50 split.

You will still have individual tire spin, but equal power front and rear

Cool thx, So if I were to get a locker I would only be able to afford one right now. So would I be better off getting one for the front or rear first.

Damn, I didn't realize you still had individual tire spin when the center diff was locked. Now I feel kinda silly. I'm prob going to use it more often now. Lol

Once your tires hit dirt, lock it up!

It's like an FJ when you lock the center diff. The FJ's 4wd is for off road use only. We have AWD and 4WD for awesome all-weather handling!

I recently put my ride in 4low with diff lock on and the VSC light lite up and started beeping. Is this what you guys are disabling? If so what is it actually doing by disabling the VSC? and why was it beeping?

Nnnnnnoooooooooo.

The beeping is because you did not engage 4lo properly! Put the truck in 4wd, then stop, put the truck in neutral with your foot on the brake and switch into 4lo. The beeping will go away.

We are disabling the truck from interfering with daily driving. For example, I now have a front bumper. When I slam on the brake and go over bumps, the truck makes the brakes let go for some reason. I'd prefer locking my brakes up.

Also when off road, I'd like to be able to spin tires on my own, instead of having the truck grab the slipping tires. My VSC has warped 3 sets of front rotors while I was off road.

The middle two prongs are for the VCS, and the first two prongs are for the lights.

You have to modify the switch internally for it to work. I am still trying to figure that out.

I believe what you guys are trying to accomplish is the VSC mod using the stock VSC switch. In order for this to work you need to do the mod then mod the switch, as the stock switch is momentary and you need a switch that will stay on or off. The mod itself is pretty simple and well covered, but here is a link to mod the switch. Hope this helps.

So I did the switch mod by taking the two wires out of my DAC switch. The switch will then go in and stay in, then pop out when pushed again, so i assume that is working right.

I wired it up and the VSC lights etc, come on when the switch is out, not pushed in. I swapped the two wires around and its still the same. The other issue is i can turn the switch on and off and it still doesn't turn VSC etc back on unless I turn the key off then back on.

Any suggestions?

Switch is illuminated and everything but it doesn't seem to be working any differently than a momentary switch. HELP!!!!

dereky,

I am not 100% sure as I did not use a stock switch when I did this mod, but I believe once the switch is modded pushed in is on and system is engaged and working, popped out and the switch disconnects internally turning it off thus causing an interrupt in the system and thus enabling the mod. Once the mod is activated the only way to reset the system is to push the button in and power off and restart as this allows the system self test, find no faults and re-engages the system. The momentary TRAC OFF switch is used to turn TRAC OFF only up to a certain speed, approx. 23 mph I believe, this mod allows the system to stay off at any speed until you decide to turn it back on.
