Once the mod is activated the only way to reset the system is to push the button in and power off and restart as this allows the system self test, find no faults and re-engages the system. The momentary TRAC OFF switch is used to turn TRAC OFF only up to a certain speed, approx. 23 mph I believe, this mod allows the system to stay off at any speed until you decide to turn it back on.

So it sounds as though all is working correctly then?

If this is what you get when the mod is activated "Lights on dash = VSC TRAC, TRAC OFF, ABS" then yes.

When you say no switch no option that means no switched option right. That doesn't mean I dont vsc, atrac at all right.if so I would still be able to do the mod to turn that stuff off?

Do you guys use this mod when off road/rock crawling. It just seems like you would want it on if one wheel started to spin the power would transfer to the other side. And when I say on I mean not using the mod.

It's good when ATRAC starts being an *******. Also good in bad conditions, like snow, when you want some wheel spin!

If installing a locker is a good idea to have this mod?

So I went to the desert this weekend and experienced atrac for the first time. What a P.O.S. design. It should be illegal to install that without a switch to turn it off. Definitely will be doing this mod before my next trip.

Amazing!
New to the forum, but found this thread when searching how to disable ATRAC. This mod is truly amazing. Just did it this morning and took her out for a ride and the truck drives just like it was meant to! I want to thank the inventors for such a great trick!

Welcome to the forum and I'm glad you enjoy the mod. This was the first mod I ever did to my truck haha.

The mod itself is pretty simple and well covered, but here is a link to mod the switch. Hope this helps.

Wiring is such a hard thing for me to wrap my head around. I assume if i was to do what this guy did with this switch mod, it would be taking care of everything?

To be honest now after rereading several threads, I am not sure. The switch Mod was done for the FJ which prior to a certain years it did not come with a switch to turn off VSC so they are modding that switch to be on/off. On our trucks all that is needed is a temporary disruption in the VSC circuit to enable the mod until the truck is re-started so a momentary switch should work. I don't know if this switch is a pulse momentary or momentary the whole time the button is pressed as it takes about 1/2 a second or so for VSC to be disabled and if it is pulse momentary I do not know if that is enough time of disruption to enable the mod. I hope this makes sense.
