Master Cylinder noise

When stopped with foot on the brake I hear what can be described as a small motor or vacuum pump running. As soon as the pedal is released the noise stops. Any idea what it might be?

We have electrically boosted brakes, that is probably what you are hearing....though I have never heard mine.

Master cylinder noise

Thank you for the feed back, the noise is very subtle, but it is there. If it is an electric boost it makes sense.

It is the electronic brake booster. Mine does it at start up and every once in a while while stopping/stopped. Dont worry about it. It freaked me out the first time I heard it!
