Can't answer until we know more information about what year and type of vehicle you're talking about.

Their are 3 known ways to disable them.

1) Your dealer can turn them off by reprogramming your body ECU with the OEM scan tool. Some dealers refuse or claim it isn't possible. It is. Search Yotatech for proof.

2) Swap out your DRL flasher for the non DRL flasher. This part costs about $35. You may be able to trade with somebody here. Search here or at Yotatech for instructions.

3) Disconnect 1 wire from your DRL flasher. Search the forums to see how.

* HINT: The DRL thread is linked in my signature.

Do the DRL's really bug you guys that much?

DRL's are law in Canada since like 91 and I think they're one of the best safety features out there. Cars without them bug me now that I'm used to everything having them....

Anyone know how to keep the DRLs on when the headlights are on? I like how the DRLs look on my black 4R (LTD)

I did not like the 2001/2002 implementation with the head lights nearly as much as I do the amber turn signals. On a bright sunny day, I've almost come not notice all the vehicles with headlights. The amber lights are not bright but they stand out much better, IMHO. I like these.

I like the way they look, as well as the safety advantage...So I just ordered the DRL flasher relay from Partznet....

Once I install it and verify that it works properly, I will be happy to send anyone my non-DRL flasher should they desire to not have the DRLs....

I seem to recall that DRLs were an option for 2003 that cost about 20-30 dollars on the sticker. Mine doesn't have them as I like to be in control of my lighting.

edit: I wouldn't want to disable them if it came equipped that way; it wasn't a deal breaker for me either way. I just prefer them off.

DRL's for 1995

K, I seem to have an older 4Runner than y'all.....I'm importing my 1995 to Canada, and need to have the headlights as DRL's...anyone know how to do this? Is it the same thing with the flasher relay that you guys are talking about with your newer rigs?

Can anyone help me? I currently have a 2003 4runner limited, and I took everything apart following the directions of another post. I located a small black flasher, and i took the plug off and tried to put it in a beige flasher, but it is smaller. Is there any adapter or something im missing or doing wrong? Im just trying to disable the DRL's for nighttime.
