98 back window wont roll up
Okay, it was raining this morning on my way to work, so I used my rear wiper. I am at work for an hour, look out the window, and my back window is down!
I went outside to roll it up, but nothing happens. All other windows, stereo, lights, all accessories work except the back window. I have an aftermarket alarm, and it never went off. My friend and I took apart the rear pieces so we could see if the motor was bad. The control unit will make a clicking noise, but only if a certain spot on the motor is being touched. We couldn't take the motor off as the window is in the way. We were also unable to force the window up.
I didn't check any fuses, as I would think if it's a fuse, non of my windows would work. I didn't know it was possible for a window to roll itself down, and I am puzzled as to why it happened and also how to fix it.
Does this sound like a motor problem? It has power going to it, we checked with a lightbulb. Any other ideas as to what it could be? TIA!
Edit: after searching, I did have to put my old battery back in because my Optima fell out of its holder and onto my transmission pulley. It seems to hold a charge, even though I have it charging right now (was listening to music while we were fiddling with the rear window) I pushed the button to simulate rolling it down all the way to try and reset it, but it didn't do anything. My friend said there wasn't any noise coming from the rear either.
