Re****ed Windshield Wipers

So, I just bought my 03 sr5 v6 a few weeks ago. I took a trip up to Idaho (from Utah) for presidents day weekend. It was snowing/raining a bit and the delay on the windshield wipers is just kind of re****ed. It will delay for a while then not at all and just keep going as if the wipers were switched on. I've tried messing with the delay time doesn't help. The only thing that does help is leaving them off for like 5 minutes and turning them back on. But, then the delay only works for about 5 minutes and then they are back on all the time. Also, when I turn the wipers off they stop wherever they are in the windshield. Is that normal? Even my POS cars would at least finish the wipe and stop at the bottom. I'm just new to Toyota's my dad's a GM engineer so I'm just wondering if anyone else has this issue or if it's just me?

Sorry, didn't know that was a bleep-able word I used. By the way I've been reading the forums for months and you guys convinced me to buy the t4r. Hopefully getting the daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer lift and tires in a few months.

It's not normal for them to stop where you turn them off. Sounds like there's a problem. Sorry I can't be specific as to exact cause.

(The program is a little too sensitive. You can't even say "how do I re**** the ignition?")

If its a problem ONLY with the wiper's timing when on delay, then I would imagine its something to do with the resistor either in the switch or located elsewhere.

The only reason why i bring this up is because i got my fan's resistor replaced ($$$$$!!!!) and the problem stemming from this was the fan-speed was all over the place and couldnt be controlled.

I believe there are a couple recent threads here dealing with wiper switch problems and a description as to how to replace it.
