Ride height of the 4th gen

This maybe a silly question, but it wouildn't be the first time that i asked one

What is the ride height of the front of the vehicle lower, than the rear of it. Does it have to do with the engine weight. And if so, couldn't they just put in stiffer spring and shocks in the front to make it level

Actually, it is level. Instead of using the wheel wells to judge, just look at the running boards.

If you look at some of the 4Runners with a lift, the running boards are higher in the front than the rear... but the wheel wells look more even...

LOL, good point. That is exactly what i was looking at this morning, as i was spending 1:80 a gallon for gas. Had to put my mind on something, and noticing that was what did it for me.

Has anyone ever measured the ground clearance tho? I have a hair over 9" in the rear under the rear diff, and 7.5 under the (reinforcement ) bars that mount near the side of the front skid plate. Strange that Toyota calls it 9.1" MIN ground clearance..
