sorry to hijack this thread, but i think this issue is somehow related:
anyone know what is the color of the wire in the wire harness located close to the map light? my mic keeps on disconnecting, i might have loosen the pins when I tried to look for the +/- source...
I tried to push all the pin connector several times already but after a while, the mic disconnects again... I'm planning to hard wire it instead.

I put the mirror in my 04 but after I got my 07 I couldn't find one reasonable enough so i picked up one from an 01 Tahoe for three bucks at the junkyard to use til I find a Toyota cheap.
Edit, I've since swapped one out for a $5 one I pulled out of a Camry. Works mint.

You can also grab one from a junk yard. The GM's and Jeeps I know are the straight forward Gentex mirrors that you can easily wire up. I have the one with a compass that I grabbed out of a suburban if I can recall.

You need to grab the affiliated temp sensor and wire it in. Usually see them on the radiator support beam.
Configure your mirror to run *C or *F.

Thanks for the info.I was wondering is there any OEM mirror wich shows temperature and can be showing Celsius.Im asking because my car is showing Fahrenheit and want Celsius.

I think so.
I have one in my Acura TL and it works great, performance and diming levels are spot on … it’s something I notice and miss when jumping into my 4Runner or Silverado.
Integrated DVR seems like a really good idea too.

What wiring kit are you referring to? It just has wires coming out of the mirror and you tap them into the stock wiring harness.

Got the mirror from ddave57 on eBay.
It came with its own installation instructions zip ties, wire taps and ground ring terminal.
Also the wire cover from the headliner to the mirror base!
Great product and so happy to have auto dimming, compass and outside temperature again😎
