What do you guys think. Need an opinion fast
So, just out of sheer bordom this past saturday, my father and i went to the nissan (i know i know) dealership to look at the armada. He is done with his Fully loaded Yukon and was only looking at the yukon. Now, he owns his own co. drives cars for 2 years and gives them back.
So, here is the problem. I didn't know what to expect from the armada until i got in it and took it for a ride. All i gotta say, is damn is this thing a beast. The smoothness of that v8, torque that pulls for days, and room. And i mean lots of room. This thing is over a foot longer than the yukon, and sits higher, and is safer, b/c of all the curtain airbags, and everything else. The one thing that i thought was a little strange is that nissan has an VSC on/off switch and we don't. But that is a later thread.
So, here it is, what would you guys do.
Would you guys either go for a fully loaded 05 yukon, or would you go for the fully loaded Armada off road SE
He is making his decision this week, and i am trying to get him into this armada
Let me know boys/girls

You have a great thing going on here. Convince him to buy whatever you like the best. Then in two years when he goes to trade it in…. you buy it instead :_)

HAHAHAHAH. Dude, that is exactly what i was thinking. My lease is up in 32 months, i figure i can have do a 29 month lease, have him extend it for like an additional 2 or 3 months, and buy the time my lease is up, i may take that armada off his hands. If he goes with the yukon, i won't do it. but if you get a chance take the nissan for a ride, this thing is a beast. But doesn't handle like one. Oh, and they have rear captains chairs, which are the front seats, but only in the back. SOOOOOOOOO nice
And one thing i can't figure out. Why the hell is our sunroof at least twice as big as the armada's. It is sooo funny to see that.

Have you ever sat in a Mini Cooper? That's really fun.

Dude, that car is way to small. I think.. I mean i am 6'3 and 220. Wouldn't that be pushing the limits of weight limit in that go-cart

Go with the Armada. I don't know what the price difference is though. We're looking at getting my wife one of those larger SUVs and are down to the Armada vs Sequoia vs Yukon, but unless we decide to go with the Yukon XL or Suburban we will most likely buy Japanese. We did test drive the Armada and it is really nice. Don't know if he's looked at the Sequoia? Although he is only keeping it for 2 years, you could work the Japanese vs American quality issue. Greater resale value at 2 years. Good luck.

I'd take the Armada over the Yukon. However just check if they have fixed the reliability issues on the Armada yet. Lots of people have had issues with quality and reliability on the Armadas and Titans. Brand new assembly line, new platform, engine, gearbox everything. Those things take time to get sorted out.
The Yukons are one of the most reliable Full size SUVs on the market the Armada sits at the bottom (that was for the 2004s), maybe Nissan have sorted out the issues by now.

These are the things that, if i tell him to go for it, and they give him problems, he will efing kill me.
But as far as interior, it does seem a little more chinsey. but the engine is sick, and the amount of interior space is great. I haven't told him about the sequioa (spelling), but i don't think the v8 offers that much power. It is the one from the 4runner isn't it.
He is making his mind up this week, so i gotta get all over him. And plus. man is it fun to watch him beat the isht out of salesmen. But the flip side, he calls his guy at gmc, says what he wants, then goes there and gets it.
Nice life right

This is from CR, despite what other people might say their ratings are pretty accurate. As they get iit from samples of the user base, not just arbitrary studies.
SO you decide for yourself what you want to do, but I dontknow if it is a good idea to recommend it to anybody. Maybe wait 2 more years, have him get the Yukon and then he can look at the new Sequoia.

Take him shopping...
to a Toyota/Lexus stealer! That's what all the other companies benchmark against. Don't fall into the Nissan big bling trap. If you're happy with the T4R then sell him on your enthusiasm. Get the LC, LX or Sequoia. Has he even looked at these?

I've heard mixed reviews on the Armada, if the old man does go for 1 I would make sure he pays 5-8k under invoice, the dealer will act like their are no problems but they have tons of quality issues, the #1 major concern being it eats through brake pads in 4000 miles, Nissan has a big break kit coming in a few months.
Nissan has bought back tons of Armadas and Titans just to avoid getting the Lemon Laws.
Check out www.freshalloy.com
www.clubarmada.com
www.clubtitan.org
www.titantalk.com
I looked at an Armada and QX56 and the Armada was nice but way to many rattles on the test drive, QX56 was sweet and the Infiniti dealer offered it to me for 44k, but I don't want a problem prone vehicle that will not start, alternators, starters, tranny problems, engine problems, electrical problems, very low quality, look close at the Armada, the exterior window trim is heavy duty stickers, plus diffs where over heating cause their where underfilled at the fatory, air bag problems, master brake cylinders leak when brand new, knowing all that I can't touch the vehicle.
The Infiniti dealer across from the Toyota and Lexus Dealer has 10 QX56 sitting in the shop parkin glot waiting for fixes.
The Armadas the owners are not so anal cause they have not paid 50k for POS, it's an exellent alternative to the Expedition and Tahoe so I guess the owners are use to low quality so the Armada is a step up:arrow:
Read through the links I gave you and see what problems customers are currently having cause every new batch of trucks is getting better ad better but still not enough for me to buy 1, maybe when they redesign it in 2007 or 08.
I'd go with the Yukon, he's only keeping it for 2 years and it will have a way better resale value then the Armada
The Armada was an excellent idea but the follow through was crappy

How much can he get the Yukon for? How much space does he need? DOes he tow with it?
I f he leases for his business he might get a great deal with the Lexus LX or GX as they retain their value exceptionally well. He will jsut have to negotiate a bit with the dealer.
But remember those Yukons are very hard to beat in that segment, I dont like the styling but that is subjective.
Maybe wait for the new Sequoias, till thay are a year or two out. Teh problem with the current Sequoia is that is has the smallest engine and tow the least, but the inside space stands up to all but the suburban.

Here's the thing. He does tow his hogs sometimes, but not that often. he def won't want a truck without a v8. There is just no debating that.
As far as an lx or gx. Are they doing any specials or deals on it. Just curious, cuz i want some ammo for a conversation with him.
As far as the yukon.. This is his 2nd one, and they have given him absolutely no trouble. I believe there was one warrenty issue that was handled and that was it.
