Cold air intake and exhaust help with mpg

Recently I have noticed a big change in MPGs I was averaging about 15.5 and now I am at 12.2. My driving habits have not changed and I keep up on the maintanice of my Rig. I understand that when its cold the air is thicker and thus making it hard to get better MPGs, but the weather has been about 50-60 as of late in my area. I was told by a gas attendent(dont know how much he knew) that the gas is being distilled with more ethenol and this is why the Gallon is not going as far. I am thinking of adding a KN cold air intake and a Magnaglow Exhaust. But would adding that actually help the MPGs?
