Mileage on XREAS before failure or lift?

For those of you who waited till your stock XREAS failed or just had your shocks fail, how many miles were on them? I have stock XREAS with 80k. I wanna keep it till i "need" to replace it. OME light or medium kit is the final step. Im trying to decide between A) putting on the DS 2.5/1.5 untill the shocks sh!t the bed; or B) save the $150, stay stock till they sh!t the bed with 265/70's?

If you know you're getting ome then I'd wait. Or just get the ome now. You'll love it so much more than the stock ride. I'm running the ome medium duty stuff now and couldn't be happier.

mine went out at 60k, all 4 were leaking. It is a DD, never been offroad or pushed hard.

I've got 91k, and plan to install Bilstein 5100s and fj springs as soon as the rear shocks arrive in the mail. IMO, even if at 80k your shocks aren't leaking, they probably still don't ride as well as they once did. Save the $150 and go with the OME kit as soon as you can.

I got over 150k miles out of mine. Some of that was with a small Cornfed lift. Installed Bilstein 5100's to replace XREAS. Ride was still pretty good with XREAS when replaced, just getting noisy I think because of a small fluid leak.

I made it to just under 150k when I finally pulled it. No leaks or other problems, just was going to get a bigger lift and did shocks as well. About 20k on mine was with 1.5" lift in the front.

I had 70k on mine before they had signs of very minor leaks. I did not push the vehicle hard or do any hardcore off-roading. The only few times were pulling really heavy loads with house construction materials in the trailer and in the vehicle itself. Replaced with 5100's all around and FJ springs. Very happy with the results.

If I were you, I'd wait to put in a whole new set up altogether (or do it now!). Not worth the effort to put in the lift with the existing X-reas only have to change out the X-reas when they go bad in the future.

Don't waste your time on a Spacer Lift...WAY TOO MUCH WORK for little improvement.
