+1

There are no aftermarket options for us. To my knowledge only the 2007-2009 V8 4Runners have that option.

I do not know how difficult it is to modify pipes but I have found headers and castiron manifolds online for the v-8's .

no one makes an aftermarket one for the v8...so unless the stealership gives me a 10 yr warranty, I don't see the point??

There is literally ZERO room around the headers in there.

I cannot imagine what a PITA it would be to try to trial and error modify something to work in there.

Looked and looked

I've looked and looked but the only thing I could could find was for 2007+ 4Runners here:

Underdog Racing Development

Pretty sure for 2003-2006 V8 4Runners there is nothing out there.

That would be cool, but this is what makes me think it won't ever happen:

YotaTech Forums - View Single Post - Doug Thorley Header Update

For some reason they did end up doing them for 07+ but I believe there were too many variances in earlier years.

Do you really need to replace the cracked manifold? Will anything else go bad if you don't?

i dont know about your neck of the woods, but any leak in the exhaust system is cause for a failure in our yearly inspection rendering the car useless or illegal to drive anyway

Crap, this really sucks. The noise is driving me nuts (mind you, its starting to get colder here so my windows are up more now then they were a month ago). Mine too can only be heard once you start driving (cannot be heard in neutral or in gear with brake on) in low RPM's when cold.

I was thinking I might try to take them off with the help of my Father who is a welder by trade (and does teh najority of his own mechanic work) but it soulds like it might be too big a chore.. and would hate to break or strip a manifold bolt.

Man... I hate this noise... and the cost!

Same here, currently living with it... the plan is to take a crack at it next spring.
