rock rails sooner than later?

I have an '04 V8 Sport, tonight I drove over to a friend's borrow her crock pot for my Rapture Chili....and this is the most expensive crock pot I've ever borrowed. We had the most intense rain storm in Denver I've seen in 40 years, flooding, tons of Lightning....crazy. A random manhole cover was flopping around on the street on my way home, I was lucky enough to drive over it without seeing it in the rain (the guy in front of me just kept driving and didn't swerve so I had no idea it was in the road to begin with). The cover got pinched by my tire rolling over, it stood the cover up and wedged it between the street and my right running board. BANG! is all I heard and then a bunch of scraping. I pulled over and the plastic trim on the edge of the runner was pushed back into the rear tire about 10 inches. The runner itself was bent up about 6 from it being flat. I stood on it to bend it back at home, it's about as close as I can get it back to level...but it's tweaked a bit now. It was fun driving in the rain but damn...

Question is, I suppose this gives me an excuse to mount rock rails sooner than I'd planned. Who's product is the best value?

Do you want bolt on or weld on?

For weld on you're looking at between $230-$550 shipped
For bolton it's around $400-1000 shipped

I personally just got some Stubbs HD-SKO sliders from Richard Stubbs welded on they ran ~$360 shipped. It seemed like the best value to me as he has an excellent reputation, was great to deal with, and seemed to be the best find (looks, durability, & cost) for me after looking for almost a year.

Here is a thread with pictures of mine.

Other weld-ons include Trail Gear & 4xInnovations. Neither of these companies list 4th gens on their site but I have emailed both and they both say they'll make them for ~$30 more than the 3rd gen ones.

The cheapest bolt on sliders I've seen Rocky Road Super Sliders which (IIRC) are about $409 + shipping but a lot of people don't trust the way they attach to the frame AND body. They also don't stick out very far from the body and aren't a good recommendation if you plan to use the sliders as steps.

Other bolt-ons are from Demello, Shrockworks, White Knuckle Offroad, and a few more but run $475+ before shipping.

Hanna Quality has also made sliders but I couldn't find very much info about them other than the people who buy them like them.
