Plasti-dipped wheels

I know it's been done before but just thought I'd share. Plasti-dipped my stock 17's last weekend. I love the contrast on the silver body. Sucky iPhone pic. Enjoy

Looks sharp dude, I've always liked the black/silver contrast.

hey TREVLOC, I do like that you did the door handles. Next question, plasti-dip my grill or color-match paint it? As you can see, I'm getting rid of all the chrome on the truck. Your thoughts?

honestly, either would look good.

i am more for black on everything. i have painted a whole lot of my interior black just cause i love black...

but that is your call. i painted mine black (it was color keyed to start) with actual paint and i paint it every few months due to rock chips and bugs and so forth.

from what i hear plastidip doesnt chip due to those things cause its thicker and rubberyer. if that makes sense.

plasti dipped my grill and it hasn't chipped yet. i do regret not sanding before hand because it doesn't adhere to the chrome so well but it looks good to me!

It's been well over a month since i plasti-dipped my wheels and they still look good. The only problem was when i took it to the dealership to get the tires rotated i told them to be careful and they only chipped one wheel a little near a nut but its barely noticeable. Besides that i drove on rocky gravel roads, in the grass, and even sprayed them down with the hose on full blast with a jet stream nozzle and there were no problems at all. This stuff is pretty durable, holds up much better than i thought!

And the beautiful part? If it ever does chip or peel a little you can just spray some more on!

is there enough film build to cover minor surface imperfections like pitting?

Looks sick, luv the look. Going to do this soon. Did you take the wheels off, or spray while on the 4R?
Plasti-dip grill, it will hold up well. Had it on my VW & had no problems. Never sand if you are going to use plasti-dip. It defeats the purpose of being able to take it off.

Thanks man. I took them off, cleaned them really good (just normal carwash stuff) and sprayed away. It was super easy, just time consuming.

I didn't take off the wheels. I talked about it here: I just finished plasti-dipping my rims black. Check out the pics:
