Magnaflow catback installed!

Finally after weeks of waiting for Magnaflow to have stock on these I got mine.

Construction on the catback is fantastic, FINALLY rid of that horrible football shaped piece of junk on the back. Yes, I could have had it cut off and yes I could have had a muffler welded in for less but I greatly prefer the look of this dual tip setup and you can see the stainless steel pipes through the wheel well. It has a great 'finished' look to it and sounds awesome. For me the extra cost was worth it in terms of appearance and construction. Plus I love DIY mods.

Install... pretty straightforward except for my horribly rusted bolts. Sawzall to the rescue .

Noise level... I'd say its more on the tame side ... very tame at 70mph.. just about perfect. I'm a little bias though I've had Magnaflow catbacks on my last 2 Mustangs and I really like the sound. I had MAC Flowpaths (similar to Flowmaster) on another Mustang many years ago and didnt like it as much.

It resonates very slightly as you are slowly accelerating for a split second but that is about it. Its very minimal but I wanted to mention it. The 5 speed transmission puts the revs out of the loudest range at 70mph cruising speed.

I will post some sound clips in the next day or two.

Man I need to get those 5100s in and get that nose up.

Very nice. V6, right? I can't see if it's on your signature through Tapatalk.

EDIT: I just noticed your avatar says V8.

Yes Sir: V8 here

Here is a short clip at between 25% and 50% throttle to show what most in town driving would sound like. Nice and mellow but you can tell its a V8.

Also, if you want to know what a cracked exhaust manifold sounds like here is a cold start take off.

More later my neighbor started mowing his lawn so no sound clips for a bit.

That is true, this is my third Magnaflow catback and both of my previous ones (Mustangs) did get slightly louder after a few hundred miles.

I had a magnaflow on my 5.4 F150. had a very nice tone and quality was very nice. I like that they are flow through and not chambered like a flowmaster.
