Someone stole my.....
Someone stole the Toyota logo rubber stopper that goes in my trailer hitch. I wonder how long its been missing. Just noticed today.

Did you actually have it when bought the truck? I know a lot of dealers forget to put that in when they deliver the truck. I don't know what it is, but I see so many 4Runner's and GX470's without that piece. If you want, you can try going back to the dealer and tell them that they never gave you one. It may work.

I know it was there. I put it on myself. And noway it fell off. Its on pretty snug. Either somebody else who was missing one took it or some punk kid in my neighborhood took it. I can get a replacement from work but damn it sucks.

My salesman mentioned that people like to "borrow" that trailer hitch cover, so he left it wrapped in its plastic wrap and didn't install it.

I figured I might as well install it. If someone walks off with it, I'm no worse off than if I kept it locked in the car.

I haven't had mine stolen, but I did have it cracked. I think someone backed into it or I might've backed into something. Anyway, I bought a couple replacements just so I would have some around if it ever got "borrowed".

I was at the dealer and some guy was pulling them off all the new trucks and putting them in his jacket and he runs down to his car and takes off, salesman comes flying out all :awais: I was like what thats not allowed, I took his plate and car description down and the guy was like thanks

Poo Poo showed up all hardcore:arrow: actually they where Highschool Graduates but still they meant business:goinposta

I hate car theives and I could have pile drived him into the black top but I figured not a good idea.

My neighbor has had 4 of them stolen off his Sequoia. He just quit replacing it.

I figured someone would try to steal it sooner or later so I put Epoxy adhesive on the rubber and inserted it in the hitch. If someone tries to take it out they will destroy it and it will be of little use to them in pieces. I will probably never tow but if I do at least I will be the one to remove it.

I had mine stolen a few days after I bought the 4Runner. I noticed it right away. I got a new one and now I always check it and give 'er a little kick to make sure it's in tight

Mine was stolen a few months ago. I don't know when it was taken, I just noticed one day it was gone.

I worked for a car dealer a number of years ago and we never put antennas on until the car was sold. People would steal those things as if they were worth something. I guess some people will steal anything that isn't bolted down.

You could just buy a cool metal one from the dealer & get a locking pin.

Lost it at the car wash
No one took mine, but I got the vehicle washed at the local car wash, and it was missing after that. I went back and asked about it, and was told that hitch plugs are always coming off in the wash. They had a whole box of them. Of course, mine wasn't in there, but another one was, which said TOYOTA on it and had the logo. It was pretty new and fit my hitch just fine, so I took it.
