Rear "Bull" Bar
Hey Guys,
much like the steelcraft front bull bar, is there an equivalent for the rear? The reason I ask is I want to stop people bashing into the back on my 4Runner as they "attempt" to park.
And here are some gratuitous 4Runner pics to look at

You might consider WAAG Products. Click on the link.
WAAG : Showroom : Toyota 4 Runner
Also check EBAY MOTORS. Search using "2005 4runner rear bumper bar"

I went with a Go Rhino! hitch step (inserts into the hitch receiver) - to not only get better access to the roof, but to also keep people away from my rear bumper.

Slow speed bumps it might help against but anything over 30mph and those things will crush easily and if they hit just one side it will spread the impact over the whole bumper and do more damage in most cases just like brushguards do. I've seen it on my neighbor's Xterra.

I always leave my hitch on mine... don't care if they hit that.

All in all it was worth the $$ to me with avoiding the first accident.

I have the black step similiar to Bossman, but it's a flat bar, I picked it up for less than $20 and its already saved my back bumper from tailgaters once. Great $20 insurance policy, as well as it makes it real easy to clean my roof when I wash her!!!

Bossman
I am planning on adding a black Steelcraft Bullbar and wanted something for the rear as well. With your pics of an identical twin I can see how my truck will look.
Thanks for posting the pics!

The hitch bar and ball helped me some i think. Maybe two weeks after i bought my 4runner a kid in a Jeep cherokee ran right into me when i was sitting stopped at a stoplight with a bunch of other cars. What happened was my bumper got a couple dings and my hitch itself scratched but the bar and ball punched a hole in his jeep bumper. I was surprised he didnt get hooked but i was able to drive into the next business driveway with no issues.
I should have said it made my vehicle start to have the driveline cluck and had something done with that. ;)
Id like to have a tube bumper that follows the lines of my rear bumper but i keep the plastic one in place. I've seen one on here but i cant remember who i was right now. Anway it looked great and you dont lose the hitch. I use a basket every now and then so one of those steps would just be something else to have to store.

I know it wouldn't happen but with that i keep picturing it in my head the back getting hit and the front wheels lifting off the ground as it gets launched forward. HA
It does seem like a good idea though. Same basic principal as the big highway trucks use with the big bumper deal they lower when doing road work.
