96-02 4Runner Rear Plate Bumper

Protecting your rear end is just as important as the rest of the truck and the good people at 4x Innovations know that! They have engineered this rear bumper to provide you the comfort and peace of mind you need while off the beaten path. Starting with proven 3/8” high grade steel mounting plates this bumper has the strongest mounts available. The main bumper is high grade 3/16” steel plate. Two ½” thick recovery shackle mounts are interlocked into the main bumper and fully welded directly to the main mounting plates. We know your departure angle is important to you, and this rear bumper is designed with a great low profile for maximum clearance.

If all that isn’t enough, we saved the best for last. All bumpers come with an integrated DOT rated receiver hitch. Our receiver hitch has been engineered and tested to exceed the SAE testing standards for a class 3 hitch (500lbs tongue load, 5000lb trailer weight).

Bumpers are fabricated in Wisconsin from American Made Steel. Bumpers bolt directly to the frame using factory bumper mounting holes and hardware. Bumpers ship bare steel to save you big money on handling and shipping fees! Current version does not fit with the stock spare tire location on some models. We are working to resolve this but do not have an exact time frame.

Visit our website for all the most up to date info and pricing Plus save $$ when you order a Front and Rear Bumper combo pack!

Also you can add a swing out spare tire carrier with lots of different options.

Love the bumper, but I would like to fabricate my own rear tire carrier. Do I need to reinforce the bumper at the hinge, or would it be strong enough? Thanks.

The bumper is plenty strong on it's own for a tire carrier. We do sell just the hinge and latch assemblies if you're looking for those.

I forgot to ask. How much for extra if I have a 1" body lift? Thanks again.

I don't have anything worked out for body lift bumpers yet. We will be able to build them but I'm not sure exactly when that will get worked up.

Is there any pictures underneath of how the bumper mounts to the truck. Bumper looks excellent, would be great to go along with my 4x sliders!

I don't currently have any photos of the mounting. It is very simple to install though. The bumper uses the 4 factory holes on the bottom of the frame and has plates that wrap up onto both sides of the frame to act as the wing supports, and hitch supports. There is a bar that slides inside the frame with nuts welded to it to make install as easy as possible. There is a 5th mounting hole at the back of the frame that I do recommend drilling if you are going to be towing with the bumper.

Great Thanks! Looks like I found the bumper for me when time comes.

I can snag some pictures today of how it mounts on my truck. Lots of beef in the mounting area, mine has taken some decent hits and all is well still.

Sweet! That would be great, good to see it has proven its self for you. Seems like a great option.

Any chance you got around to grabbing a few pic of the bumper?

Try to look past all the rust and salt in the pics, went wheeling last weekend in the aftermath of a snowstorm and it's been bitter cold all week so I haven't been able to wash/paint.

Even with just the 3 bolts in it, it has held up fine. I've slammed it down coming off ledges a couple times with no issues. Adam has put some serious thought in the mounting setup with the extra holes right over the side supports. VERY pleased with the product, especially with the addition of wings on the sides to protect the glass... Which I've used generously here in the Midwest.

Excellent! Thanks a lot, looks like pretty strong mounting. I think this made my decision, sliders are working great for me, so this bumper shall be next!
