Touch-up paint for Blizzard pearl

Anyone have an alternative to the pathetic Toyota touch up paint. That crap is so watery and looks like ****.

Just FYI my black touch-up paint is on a heavy/thick end.

If it's watery, bring it back to the dealer. It's bad.
Or, perhaps you didn't shake it long enough?
Either way, it should be semi-thick.

I know I know...that's what she said...

You want it thin - Use multiple coats to eventually "build" it up to original paint level.

Yeah I figured that, but its so watery and the color looks like crap too, doesnt even match good. I checked with the dealer stock a while back and they were all like that too.

If it doesnt match you didnt shake it long enough. It should match almost perfectly. I have had to use it a few times after I have messed up stuff

The first time I used it it looked like total ****, I shook it up hard enough to make my elbow hurt and tried again and it looks great. Just do super thin coats and the pearl and metallic flake will come in it too. It will not match to a t obviously, but it will look much better.

Use two different touch up paints. Base and top. 040 and 070.

Ive used this paint company with great success on the 10runner and 10tundra we own. Perfect factory match and a couple ways to apply it.

Another one worth mentioning: I recently ordered from paintscratch and their paint did wonders for a bumper chip on my 4runner (and wasn't watery like you're experiencing). Here is a link to their Toyota paint page.

Does the Rubbing Compound & Lacquer thinner make a big difference?
