need help with brake controller

2011 4runner,installing brake controller with the wiring harness/plug that came with vehicle,I was told the harness can be hooked up to a terminal on driver side where plastic kickplate is,is this where connection be made?,and if so,how do you remove the lower driver side plastic kickplate??(i did remove the one nut near dead pedal) but I still can't get it out...I'm afraid of breaking the plastic kick plate. THX

You shouldn't need to remove any panels to get access to the plug. Its visible without removing anything (unless certain models are different).

Just crawl on the floor under the brake and gas pedal...you'll see the spot. The harness shouldv'e been in the glove box.

If you don't get it let me know, I'll take a pic and post it.
