Because it's an option ,not an add on accessory.
Again ,it's going to be a wiring harness problem again too. From what I read it's wired into the gauges, a separate switch on the dash to turn it off/on, the door switches and has sensors to detect if it hits something when extending. Wouldn't surprise me if it had it's own separate ECU for it also. All of that is going to have to be custom wired for it to work on a 10-11 4Runner and you would need the 2012 wiring diagrams.
It would probably be easier and cheaper to just bug AMP Research to make one for the 4Runners and a bunch of people e-mailed them. It's a $1500 option on the 4Runner and probably a whole lot more then that for just the parts. AMP's run a little over a $1000 and look like the same thing.
