Yes, had a few questions for you about the prinsu rack but didn't want to put them in this thread, hence the PM.

SchrockWorks Dimple Plate Sliders
Spoke to Mark at Schrockworks here in Houston and they had a few sets of sliders in stock. Walked in with CASH and walked out with a super deal.
Project took maybe 2 hours. The stickynuts are quite easy to work with, the finish is really nice. Found this installation guide which was quite helpful.

What was your setup with regard to how the bar was mounted on your roof rack?
I'll have my light bar sitting over a cutout on my fairing and have a couple inches of adjustment (front to back) for the light bar. I'm hoping that if too much light spills down on my hood I can just pull the light bar back an inch and cut off all spillover up to my front bumper.
|
You may have better luck and more room for adjustment than me. My fairing only has a 3 inch wide notch for a bar to sit in, no room to move back or down. I'm working on installing a Diode Dynamics bar now, will post up when finished with my experience on that one.

Just installed Cornfed Spacers 2/1.5” kit and some Nitto RG 285/70/17.
Zero modifications needed (no rubbing on factory UCA) and got to keep my mud flaps. However, I am about 1/4” away from the body mount and anything bigger would have required a BMC.

You’ve got some serious metal working talent! You work with the “Iron Resurrection” guys or Foose?

Hey Chuck
I’m a retired cabinet maker, so I can make a pattern. I have a buddy that builds trophy trucks from scratch for a living and gives me guidance and the use of some off his tools (bead roller) but he make me do all the work. I have a 63 Nova that I build from from basically a roller that sat for 25 years.

Hey Black
Sorry didn’t take many pics, made it out 3/4” birch ply and European adjustable cabinet hinges. The hinge plates through bolt to each other on the center bulk head and the hinges just clip on. The front doors open the opposite way via the back passenger doors. The top of the box has the fuzzy side peal and stick Velcro on all the flat surfaces so the doors don’t rattle. I was gonna carpet the doors but didn’t leave enough room.

This is upside down from the front.

Adding KC Lites light bar today - add a fuse?
Installing the 20" KC lites lightbar today and was hoping someone could confirm I was adding the add-a-fuse properly.
I like how nice and organized their wire harness came and without cutting it all up I thought if I capped the supply wire from the relay and added the add-a-fuse line in it would complete the proper circuit and protection. I would add it in to an ignition on only free fuse space. (don't want to tap into anything)
Thanks for any input
