Installed the Apex Overland Front Recovery Points before winter and giving the underbody its usual fall Woolwax coating. Nice quality product and customer service from Apex was great.

Here’s a good explanation, an averaging algorithm figures it out:
How Your "Miles To Empty" Range Indicator Operates
BTW, on a recent road trip the low gas light went on, range display said 21 miles. I drove 20 miles to a gas station, display said 1 mile left. Filled up, clicked off at 20 gallons, I squeezed in 0.25 more. Forgot to look at range after that.
In the Toyota owner manual it says
“ Low fuel level warning light
Indicates remaining fuel is approximately 3.5 gal. (13.1
L, 2.9 Imp. gal.) or less”
Based on my experience I’d agree that a 3.5 gallon reserve is correct. However I don’t know if all of that would be available to burn.

Little Missouri Falls, Ouachita National Forest
Me, the wife, and the dogs took a trip to Little Missouri Falls in the Ouachita National Forest. Getting the dogs used to traveling, and getting used to our new camera.

Changed the design a bit. Fits tighter and the fingers are lower for easy cup maneuver.
You can download and print the Yeti cup holder. Works in both cup holder positions.

Picked her out Friday
I found a relatively rust free 2010 SR5 with some upgrades from the factory. Light rust (a miracle in N Wisconsin for that age of vehicle), very clean, no accidents, and in the color I wanted! Magnetic Grey.
I can't wait to dig through the countless 5th gen pages now!
So far, I started Fluid Filming the body (not much to do on 2nd inspection), took the tailgate apart and derusted that (light for the miles and area). Next will be inspection of the tranny fluid, differentials, and then making a list from the 5th Gen info and build pages!

Got ten years from oem Panasonic battery
Replaced the oem battery on my 2011 SR5. Picked up a Walmart 24F Maxx series for $100. They've lasted the 5 yrs in previous vehicles. I probably would've gotten more out of the oem if I had taken care of it. All the cells were at the minimum line.

More trails in the Ouachita National Forest
I hit some more trails today. Met up with some friends, and we explored some new areas none of us had been to before. Had a great time, and the weather was awesome. 68 degrees and sunny. Not a cloud in the sky.

I'm not totally sure about this. I've always liked wood, pistol grip shift knobs so I got this one. It fits good and feels good in the hand but since there's no other wood in the interior it looks a bit out of place. I'll live with it for now. I think Ill probably keep it.

Installed 18W - 6 LED fixure to light up winch during night time use. Connected to SwitchPro 9100. Took about an hour with most of that time getting the correct bends in the aluminum bracket.
