wife bought a plant, decided it would be a good idea to put it on the passenger seat while driving. yes of course it spilled and that's what I did yesterday, vacuumed up the soil around the seat. also found a kinder surprise egg down there, the plastic shell with the toy inside, not the chocolate. unfortunately the the shell didn't have the toy in it so that was a bummer

Installed the heated steering wheel today. It’s a great addition!

Finished the first part of the drawer box / bed platform. Fits almost too perfectly in width between the wheel housings...

Took my time today washing the wheels/tires and the inner fender liners.

Have I mentioned how much I hate washing these TRD Pro wheels? No matter how many times I go over it, there always seems to be some sort of haziness left over after drying. Whether I use car soap or wheel cleaner, it always comes out hazy.

Also vaccumed the interior and cleaned the rubber floor mats.

Tomorrow is the rest of the interior/windows and the exterior.

.
dry tires
spray the tires down with Wesleys Bleach White
DONT get it on the wheels
do 2 tires at a time, no more, hose off or pressure wash off before it runs and sets on the wheels
this cleans the road grime and brown off the tire and gets them back to black
spray wheels down with soap / car wash
use soft brush or wheel scrubber on wheels, clean in spokes and all, do a good job
wash wheels off good, lots of soap and water get in the center cap and lug nut holes, be sure to wash them good to get soap out
after you are done washing them, use a blower, like a leaf blower or air hose blower and blow the water off especially out of the lug nuts and center cap. I have a battery powered leaf blower with small nozzle for max air velocity, blow the wheels off and get the water out of the lug nuts and center cap
then use a dry towel to wipe the wheels down one last time and they are done and wont have water dripping or haze or water spots

i also blow my mirrors, door handles, back glass and trim off with blower too so i dont have to constantly dry up water drips and runs.

Appreciate the tips! The tires are fine, but the wheels are another matter. It's not water spots. Yes, I dried them good. I've used regular car wash soap (Chemical Guys) and their wheel cleaner. They look good, but a closer inspection shows the haze. Cest la vie.

Side Mirror Damaged

Not so much what I did... but what a palm tree branch did to my truck...

Palm tree branch fell onto me today and left a dent and some scratches and damaged to passenger side mirror. Anyone know what the part is that mounts the side mirror to the body? Looking to replace the cracked part.

youre going to need to buy the whole assembly, I think. I have a 2012, which looks to be older than your model but the side mirror and that trim piece are all one part

Suma / VLEDS puddle lights

I installed a couple of Suma Performance side mirrors with the defrosters & integrated turn signal indicator. I did not go with the blue tint. Took only a week to deliver and everything was correct. While I was in there, I replaced the incandescent puddle light with a couple of VLEDS 194s

EDIT: The driver side mirror accomplished the goal of reducing the blind spot to almost nothing. In the lane to my left I can see the back of an adjacent car in the mirror and the front of a car out my window, so that works fine. I was surprised how much eyestrain it takes to focus on something reflected in the driver side mirror though. This may take some getting used to.

I actually drove it...
usually in the spring and summer months, i unpack my motorcycles, and my T4R sits and sits and sits...Ive been on my bike, daily, for the past 30+ days. this morning, with the spitting rain and wet spots, i parked the bike and enjoyed a little drive into work.

Thursday i need to take a road-trip out to Maryland's Eastern Shore...to pick up my oldest childs' big-stuff from her dorm on her move out...
because...
I am happy to announce that in 10 days, i will be the proud father of a young woman who will have earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management specializing in Aquatics from the University of Md.

....NO MORE TUITION PAYMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

And my two yr plan is starting...pay off debts and hopefully in 2025-2026 ill be looking to purchase a Toyota Land Cruiser

On the topic of your eye strain, check to see where you are focusing when looking at your mirrors. Normal auto mirrors will focus out at the object. However, others will focus on the mirror itself. I have this problem with my blind spot mirror (convex mirror with suction cup on the windshield). If I switch between looking at the regular drivers side mirror vs the blind spot mirror, I can tell my focus changes. It’s a pain in the rear since my vision isn’t what it used to be.
