Harbor freight has these scrapers. They are stiff but a bit flexible.
Any auto parts store should have that turtle wax adhesive remover. I went to Auto zone. It’s a familiar smell and I can’t remember what it is but it’s an orange scent of another cleaner.
First scrape off top layer of film then spray, as that acts as a lubricant. Then more scraping.
You won’t scratch the paint.
I had to dig deep into YouTube to find this but man it works.

Based off of my research it seems that results vary depending on the year + trim of the 'runner. In mine it only had the basic XM chip with no physical antenna so the fin was completely pointless.

Here is a picture showing the same chip in the tacoma antenna which was appropriately sized:

Beyond my need to swap the antenna due to leaking I am actually really glad I did because I think the MGM matching paint and low-profile look is sick + it's not going to interfere with my SSO roof rack (when it gets here). The tacoma antenna cost me $40 on eBay.

Here are the two threads that gave me all the info I needed. There are plenty of folks who had different antenna's in their sharkfin:

Low profile XM (shark fin) antenna swap

I did an emergency silicone job and duck-taped a plastic bin over the sharkfin to cover it overnight while the silicone dried.

Next couple of days it was a warm sunny so I kept the windows cracked and ran a fan in there, dried everything up no problem. Did some research and ordered a used tacoma antenna that matched my paint color and installed it. Problem solved.

Anyway, best of luck finding the leak, it definitely sucks having to deal with water inside the vehicle. :/

Here are some pics:

Note the drops of water forming under the antenna nut and connection...

Had to do the silicone in the rain, huge PITA...

To keep the rain off the silicone overnight and hope the wind didn't blow it off:

Rode around like this for about a week, ghetto but it worked like a champ. There is extra in the front because the sharkfin was sort of warped up from sun damage I assume...

And for the record... this is what was inside the nearly empty shell of a stupid sharkfin on mine:

Installed the tacoma antenna with some fresh silicone to ensure it never leaks again

Looks factory!
Nice!!! Do you know what the product number is for that tacoma antenna?

Sure thing! I've got two for ya:
Tacoma PN: 86960-04010-B1
Corolla PN: 86960-33010-B1

The last two letter/digits in the PN are the Toyota Color Codes:
A0 = White
C0=Black
G0=Dark Green
B0=Silver
J1=Blue Mica
D0=Red
E0=Beige
H0=Turquoise
J0=Dark Blue
B1=Gray

Just know that there are some different connectors that Toyota chose to use for different years and the Tacoma connection on mine didn't match my '16 trail premium. I don't use XM anyway so I didn't care about reconnecting the wiring as I just wanted a sealed roof! These are the two threads I recommend reading through before you make the leap:

Low profile XM (shark fin) antenna swap

Hondo Garage's New Thing | Page 308 | Tacoma World

BTW @kaitlyn2004 , here is an example of a sharkfin that actually made good use of the mostly-empty space: https://www.toyota-4runner.org/2872798-post129.html

A heat gun on low setting has worked great for me. Peeled right off in one go and no need for scrapers. Don't need to heat it up much either. Zep heavy duty citrus degreaser took care of any excess residue.

Got drunk last night/this morning and pulled the trigger on a front bumper using the black friday code. I should have both bumpers late winter early spring.

In hindsight I prob should have ordered both at the same time but it took me a week before I decided to go financial retard.

My setup will be identical to the one below minus the fog lights (30" lightbar cut out no bull bar).

Swapped my TRD exhaust for a ‘21 stock one with less miles. He wanted more noise and I wanted way less and I’m very happy with how quiet it is now. Also happy with how much higher it sits. Hopefully not a ton of extra exhaust smell.

Been on a little Tecate Light thing lately. I have no allegiance to any beer I just go where the wind blows me that day.

Do it. Painful to part with that much money but there is really no way around the cost. Bite the bullet get it done.

Hit Palomar Divide truck trail near San Diego after my Billstein 6112/5160 with 2” front + 1” rear spring upgrade. Can’t believe I waited so long to upgrade!

I really dig that front bumper look. I'm super tempted myself....
Just so you know C4 is doing a Saturday only deal on that exact bumper for an extra 5% off (total of 20% discount). You might want to contact them and ask if they'll give you the extra 5%.
