Those who have gotten their headlights/Lumbar supports replaced by the dealer...
Just wondering what you guys went through to get these two items replaced by the dealer. I am coming up on the end of my warranty period and need to get them taken care of while the price is still FREE... I have the typical creak/popping in the seat and fogged headlights.
I know there is a TSB 0051-12 for the Lumbar, but the dealer said my vehicle did not come up in the affected range, which could be BS...
Thoughts...Advice?
Thanks

I called, have them the TSB, they looked it up, said I was 'in-range', would order the parts and call me when they are in for an apt. What are the last 5 or your VIN#?

Westwind, the last digits of my VIN are 5008332. Did they tell you what the range was?

My VIN is just below 800. I'm surprised the 'cut-off' is below 8k given the amount of complaints here about this!

I too am curious, but I know he mentioned 'motor', to which my response was that the creaking/popping happens when it is stationary, and it moves quietly and silently. Who knows, maybe it is a complete redesign, but they are not replacing the whole seat back, like others have had done on here, but soon had the same issue again. I will ask more when he calls to say parts are in.

the cut off has nothing to do with the amount of compaints. that when they actually changed the seatback assembly at the factory. the updated part in the bulletin is already in vehicle after that vin range

Hmmmm.....
This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.
JTEZU5JR#B 5025417
JTEBU5JR#B 5059462
Seems with either case you would be covered. Looks like you were fed some serious BS my friend.

I too would like to know ...
The above is a US TSB, is there one for Canada? Or as long as the VIN is before the prescribed VIN in the TSB, then covered?

I would think that it would only involve the VIN. They still come out of the same two plants and they use the same parts except for the fender changes and other various parts.
I should have a new response from the dealers today around Austin. Would still like to hear from people who got their headlights replaced through warranty.

I had both the DS Lumbar issue and both headlights replaced underwarranty. No problems at all. The actually replaced the DS seat back assembly, and gave me two new headlight assemblies. I've got 15K on the 2010. Hopefully you'll have similar success.

Dealer called, parts are in, apt for next Tuesday. Said the repair was like outlined in the TSB, said it could take 2 to 3 hours. I plan to drop it off in the morning and pick it up later.
Now, I am NOT a fan of anyone pulling apart my seat and piecing in back together, people just don't care about quality anymore. I plan to take photos of how the seat looking before the repair, and if there are any issues when I get it back they can take it and fix it again....or.....just order a new seat back assembly as they have the new part in it already (my opinion, what should be done to start with) but they are trying to keep the cost of this as low as they can. Although, the labor to tear into the whole seat and reassemble would probably even out to the cost of the rear back anyway, oh well.

As for the Canadian side check out this link. Appears as thought the TSB's are North America Wide if I am reading it correctly. Will look to get this done at my next service so will be calling the dealer soon.
