And a few Bussman Add-a-Circuits:

^^These are kind of pricey on Amazon, but you can find them cheaper at your local auto parts store.

I tucked the dash cam right behind the mirror, and ran the wiring through the headliner, down the A-pillar, which dropped me right behind the dash to the fusebox. If you do this make sure you route the wires into the existing harness clips to avoid interfering with the airbag.

King/TC Mid Travel Install

A suspension upgrade has been way overdue on this rig given the amount of weight she's been putting on this past year. On recent trips I was sitting loaded at worse than stock ride height even with the upgraded Bilstein 6112/5160 setup. After installing the winch and skids it was definitely time for an upgrade.

After getting shafted from another vendor on my King order I hit up Downsouth Motorsports. I'd highly recommend going with them if you're considering going this route.

Fronts:
TC UCAs
King OEM Performance w/ CDC adjusters (extended travel)
700# spring rate (opted to get these over the 650# due to the sway bar delete
Timbren bumps courtesy of @LawnDart

Rears:
King w/ CDC adjusters, custom 1" longer shafts
Icon Overland springs
Timbren Active Off Road bumps

UPS likes to drop off signature required parts at my front door without a signature.

She's beautiful!

Had to put the spring compressor to use in order to adjust the preload easily. Really glad I chipped in with my buddies for this. Makes swapping springs and compressing them a breeze.

Completed install.

Drove out to Fremont and buttoned up the alignment at my buddy's shop

Had to back off on the preload on the passenger side. I'm pretty much to the very top thread on the coilover and about dead even with no lean.

With the 700# springs and full bumper, skids, winch, etc. I'm sitting at just about 2.5" of lift in the front. Rears are sitting at about 2.25" of lift with the rear bumper and loaded drawers. With the tent mounted and at full expo weight (loaded jerrys etc.) I'll be at around 2" in the rear.

Disaster struck as I hit the washes a little too hard, proceeded to shear the bolts off the roof top tent. Tent came crashing down and somehow stopped short of hitting the hood.

Unfortunately most of the hardware wasn't salvageable, friends helped me cobble together a quick fix. 4 bolts ultimately lasted the rest of the trip home.

We lost about an hour or so because of this incident, so we stopped taking as many pics to save time. I was also reduced to a really slow pace because the fix (although it would ultimately hold the rest of the road) was pretty sketchy.

Back on the road

Stopped by Traveler's Monument

Took pics at the Mojave Mailbox but forgot to sign the guest book...

Visited the frog garden and other random figurines

Government Wells

Forgot the name of this cabin

Last night's campsite at Phallus Rock...I wonder how they got that name...

On the way out the following morning. There's probably more joshua trees here in the Mojave than in Joshua Tree NP

I was pretty disappointed that the tent incident cost us so much time from the Mojave Road, but since it exposed a flaw in the weak bolts I can learn from my mistakes and build a stronger mounting system. Due to the varying terrain (rocks/sand/washes/etc.) it'll pretty much expose any weaknesses in your setup so I'm just glad we were able to fix the issue and continue on.

badd ass thread and pics bro!
