Cargo Drawer Setup
Repurposed
@ transworldmoto
's old drawer setup from before he traded in the 4Runner. It was really solid and well built to begin with, but I finally got around to doing some upgrades that I wanted to do.
Changed out the latches and handles for something a little beefier, mounted up a fridge slide, and got some aircraft L-tracks/tie downs to mount up my Front Runner bins.
I have one drawer loaded up with tools and air supplies, and the other with first aid and recovery gear:
The hidden back drawer behind the fridge holds spare parts (CV axle, inner and outer tie rods, lower links, and other random spare odds and ends).
I really like how everything managed to work out perfectly with the CBI tables, fridge slide, and the drawer system. I can operate the drawers and slide out the fridge without any interference with each other.

Been pretty slow on updating this, on account of some major issues that popped up on the last trip.
Long story short, blew a rear main seal in the engine, cracked a metal chassis/fender piece, lost a CBI swingout pin, Rigid Duallies AND my factory fogs are now leaking water, and my pressure washer is broken while I tried to clean out mud from the truck.
On the flip side, we did 7 days and 500 miles on dirt trails around the Grand Canyon and have about 2000 pictures to still sort through.
Here's a teaser.

suspension set up?
greetings weeeee,
over the past few months i've been browsing around on this forum and been finding some pretty good stuff and definitely appreciate your build among others (lawn dart). anyways, i was looking down the road at potential suspension upgrades and was sort of curious why you went the route you went on your king suspension set up and not a full long travel set up. aside from price, were you basically not looking for something maintenance intensive assuming your 4runner is a daily driver? additionally, after reading through your thread i see you've got electrical down pretty good so i might be asking you a few questions later (depending on wether santa brings me some new rigid lights or not).

While I'd love to blow $10-15K on long travel, I'm pretty content with what I have. I ran my TRD Bilsteins until they no longer could support the weight I was running before I upgraded to the King mid-travel setup, and they ran perfectly fine before that. I average probably about a trip a month, often times with hundreds of trail miles per trip.
Once you get past the cost, there's not really any cons to going long travel besides the occasional heim joint maintenance etc.- who doesn't want increased articulation, higher GC, or suspension travel? But for me I'm perfectly content in the King MT setup.
For what it's worth, a few of my buddies have full blown long travel kits. On the recent Grand Canyon trip, it was hard not to feel intimidated while staring at this in my rearview mirror the entire time:

Thanks. I'm looking between Icon (stage 5) or a comparable King suspension set up. Do you have any advice for someone on the fense between the two?
Ps - Santa did get me those Rigid lights. Whoohoo!

I'd probably opt for the Kings paired up with some UCAs, mostly for the serviceability and relative longevity. Most shock tuners can rebuild, revalve and service the Kings to your liking, whereas with the Icons I don't feel as many shops use.
Also the Icon Stage 5 system is a pretty penny more, in part due to the billet stuff in the rear links and UCAs. I don't like to pay more than for what I actually need.

Center Console Constant 12V
With all the accessories I have running through the center area I wanted to get rid of all the power cords running out everywhere. I added a Blue Sea Dual USB socket to the center console. It puts out about 4.8A total, supplying more than enough power to all my accessories.
Carefully removed the shifter trim and made sure the back of the console wasn't obstructed before I started drilling. Traced a hole to use as the guide for my hole saw.
Connected some 12GA leads from a constant hot and plugged it into the socket.
Completed
Definitely helped clean up the wiring. iPad running Gaia, Android running APRS maps.

Nice! What are you using to mount the iPad? I have been looking for something for my iPad, you seemed to have found it!

I'm using a RAM 1" diamond base bolted into the trim plastics near the radio. I used some scrap steel I had laying around and trimmed it using a pair of tin snips for additional support. It's pretty solid and doesn't move around at all on trails.
Link to the base and socket arm. You'll need to get a mount specific to your ipad, and another ball mount base to connect that ipad mount to the socket arm.

Here's some pics of the mount:
